“Our wedding night dream!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

My husband gave me the wedding of my dreams when he brought me to Prince Edward Island. PEI is a place that I have dreamt of visiting since I was a little girl.

We spent four days at the Elmwood House; June 5th-8th. We stayed in both the Victorian Room and the Premiere Suite.

The Victorian Room was very cozy. We LOVED the Premiere Suite. Jay and Carol provided us with champagne and chocolates when we returned from our Wedding Ceremony and dinner.

Jay and Carol were great hosts and always provided us with helpful tips and places of interest on the island.

We enjoyed our stay and would love to return someday. We would recommend the Elmwood House to anyone who appreciates what a Bed and Breakfast should be!

This inn is one of the most beautiful I have stayed in. The attention to detail is impeccable--from the beautiful decor, special amenities, comfortable beds, to the customer service. The innkeeper's, Jay and Carol, have created a masterpiece here and I would encourage others who visit Charlottetown to stay at this inn. You will not be disappointed. Breakfast was superb, especially the wonderful sauce created by Jay for his French toast recipe. I would like that recipe.

Room Tip: All rooms would meet a traveler's expectations for a comfortable bed and good night's sleep.

We visited PEI for the first time with my wife, 3-year-old daughter and my parents. What a wonderful experience this was. Jay's and Carol's hospitality is incomparable. They went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable. Definitely worth calling them on the phone, so they help you find the right room for your family.

And the breakfasts were just incredible. Wonderful fresh bakery each day in a spectacular setting.

Jay and Carol were also extremely child friendly and made sure our daughter was very comfortable. Carol even made special breakfasts for her, and cut up the pancakes into small pieces.

Whenever we return to PEI, we are looking forward to staying at this wonderful inn.

This elegant mansion surpassed all of our expectations. We only needed accomodations for one night and found this location in a travel guide. The price was great and the location was marvelous. The owners were so hospitable and helpful. We were served an excellent breakfast and they helped us plan a whole day of activities. It was a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: We were in the "Nurses room" (one of the less expensive rooms) and we felt like we were in...

We've just recently had two days in the Library suite in this beautiful, authentic Inn run by the warm and hospitable Jay and Carol. It is such a privilege to visit PEI and should you choose to say here your visit will be truly enhanced. Rooms are elegant and comfortable. You are made to feel truly at home but with your privacy being well respected. As everyone has already commented, breakfast is awesome. When I departed I asked Jay for his orange sauce recipe which he printed out on beautiful stationery which was a lovely touch and forever a special reminder of my time there.

We were very fortunate to win a weekend at this inn. We had won this stay many years ago and when I presented the coupon to the owners, Carol & Jay they were so kind and gracious to honour after so many years. Our stay could not have been better. The room was lovely, the hospitality you could find no better anywhere. Breakfast in the mornings were delicious. The amenities were all there, from whirpool tubs, large selection of movies, sitting areas, fireplace... we could go on and on. We would highly recommend this for a getaway weekend or a vacation on Prince Edward Island. You can not go wrong.

This old Victorian house is full of character. The owners, Jay and Carol, have done a great job of renovating this old home without losing any of its original charm. We stayed in the Cunard suite which we would highly recommend. The living room area is very cozy with a wood burning fireplace. Logs that burn for 2-3 hours are provided so you get the ambiance of a real fire without the smoke or heat. There is a fully equipped kitchen and tea, coffee, soft drinks and microwave popcorn are complimentary. The air jet tub is relaxing and the bed is very comfortable. A full home cooked breakfast is included. Jay and Carol went above and beyond with unexpected 'treats' for our anniversary.
If you want modern and boring, stay in a hotel...if you want old style charm and warm hospitality with personalized attention, this is the perfect spot!

Room Tip: Even though there were just the 2 of us, we enjoyed the extra space of the Cunard suite. Our second...
