“Super Cute!”

My husband, Jay and I just left the Elmwood Heritage Inn after a two night stay. The house was adorable, Carol and Jay (the other one) were great hosts and the breakfast was delish... They even accommodated a gluten allergy without a hitch. The location was easy for coming and going and was a perfect setting to get us in the mood for our Anne of Green Gables tour. The house is off the road a bit so the noise level for sleeping is perfect. Check it out, it will make you happy.

Room Tip: My husband and I stayed in the library room. It is on the main floor and although we enjoy taking st...

We stayed at the Elmwood Heritage Inn five years ago and loved it. We were so looking forward to returning and staying there again. Once again it was wonderful. Carol and Jay are excellent hosts being very helpful and kind but unobtrusive. They have got it just right. Rooms are great with fantastic attention to detail and the breakfasts are so good. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Prince Edward Island it has to be the Elmwood!

A truly lovely historic inn located in a peaceful neighborhood withing walking distance to Downtown Charlottetown and the harbor. The hosts, Carol and Jay, are gracious, caring and accommodating. The delicious gourmet breakfasts are served in an elegant candlelit setting. The suites are quiet, comfortable, spacious and beautifully appointed.

We can't imagine spending a memorable occasion anywhere else. This is a good as it gets.

Room Tip: Two of the seven suites have full kitchens. All are wonderful.

Our travel group of 3 couples has traveled together for over 25 years, picking a new destination each fall. This year, we chose PEI, and randomly chose The Elmwood Heritage Inn. Our stay was tremendous both on the island and at the Elmwood Heritage Inn. Jay and Carol tended to every detail from the delicious breakfasts to helping us plan the day's touring, to taking two of us to town one day when the other 4 went in separate directions. Jay and Carol share their beautiful home with ease and grace. Our group stayed in rooms/suites on 3 different floors of the inn - all beautiful, private and quiet. In our 25+ years of traveling together, the Elmwood Heritage Inn rates at the top of our short list of favorite places.

We have stayed at B&B's all over North America, the Caribbean and Europe and this is one of the best! We stayed 2 nights in the Cunard Suite which has a full kitchen and living room! We loved the attention to detail and the exceptional service! The breakfast was wonderful! Carol and Jay are wonderful hosts!

We spent a night in Rosa's room while passing through Charlottetown. The location of the the house is great, it's in a quiet area but very close to all the action in town. The house itself is large, old and full of charm and character. We had booked Rosa's room- a long room which includes; a large comfortable bed, a small sitting area facing an adjustable fireplace for ambiance and a large bathroom with a huge air tub. The room is very comfortable and we had no problem relaxing there. The room also has a slide out TV and radio with an Ipod docking station. It felt very private.

The innkeepers, Jay and Carol are the best and truly understand this business. They made a reservation for us for dinner at the Dundee Arms which was perfect as the food was good and it was very close. Breakfast was filling and delicious, making a great start of the day. All B&B's should be like this! When back in Charlottetown, we will be staying here again.

Room Tip: Rosa's room has a great air tub in it

We read the other reviews and chose the Elmwood. We are glad we did. Jay and Carol are gracious hosts that will take care of your every need. They even did our laundry so we would have more time exploring PEI.

We highly recommend The Rose Room. It is a suite with a bed area, a seating area and a full bath with whirlpool tub. The whole house is appointed in high quality period (early 20th century) antiques. The conveniences are entirely modern and thoroughly comforttable. The B&B is a ten minute stroll to downtown.
