“Good downtown location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012 via mobile

I stayed 3 nights and had a nice cosy room at Sutherland house. Great value for business Travellers - ample parking. Good wifi connection, free continental breakfast. Room is a bit small, but comfortable beds huge flat screen, fridge and microwave . No hair dryer , no luggage rack so had to request for those. Awesome location , walking distance to the best downtown has to offer.

Wow what a surprise , we stayed in the grey secondary building in room 3205 , it is a jr suite and is awesome room for sleeping and another to work in while the kids slept. Beds are amazing and rooms have hdmi cables for the kids tv shows. Location is awesome Starbucks a 3 minute walk away right downtown. I usually don't post write ups but this warrants the positive feedback .

Great location. It is two blocks off the main road and an easy 10 minute walk to all the cafes, restaurants and theater district but far enough away not to be noisy late at night. Very nice and friendly staff. Allowed motorcycle parking under the covered entrance. A fun place to stay. Restaurant for breakfast in the hotel.

This hotel is close to the UPEI campus where the Atlantic Vet School is located. My dog was seen on an emergency basis and the hotel advertised itself as "pet-friendly" - NOT true. Rooms allocated to pets and owners are on the 5th floor accessible by stairs or one lone elevator for the hotel. The room had wall to wall carpetting- not great for pets. Finally, only one person of all the hotel staff we encountered even commented on the presence of the dog. No one offered information re where to take the dog to use the washroom, dispose of pet waste, or go for a walk. During a stressful time, the total indifference of the hotel staff made the experience even more isolating. I would not return nor would I recommend it to anyone else travelling with a pet.

Have stayed more than once Downtown Charlottetown (PEI ) and also more than once at this Hotel (formely Inn On The Hill). To me it's in the best values you'll find in there . It's close to everywhere at affordable rates, compared to other hotels. Charlottetown Downtown not being "cheap" lodging wise .....

But there's is more than just the rates. Despite it's not a 5 stars, they keep the place updated, clean and efficient. The staff was great also, and made us feel welcome.

Our room was in excellent condition and met our requests made at reservation on line. We also got free parking and Wi-Fi, fridge ....

This hotel is quite convenient as it's essentially alongside University Avenue and walking distance to most things including the Confederation Centre of the Arts.

The hotel is clean and well laid out with staff who are very good.

My only issue with this hotel were the beds. They weren't the worst I've slept on but enough that had trouble sleeping.

I had originally selected a single bed room and was put into a double double so I'm willing to try them again and see if the single bed rooms were upgraded.

The rooms are somewhat dated but very clean and quiet so that's easily overlooked.

Room Tip: Just make sure the rooms you book have new beds and you'd be happy with this hotel. Lots of free...

This was definately a unique property to stay at. This hotel is actually 3 different buildings, one being a hotel and the other 2 converted inns. We stayed at the inn on the hill portion, which had recently renovated rooms and comfy King beds. The hotel is located on the edge of downtown, but still a great location to walk to all of downtown and the waterfront. The time we were there, there was no included breakfast available. We found a Tim Horton's a few blocks from there that was excellent and cheap. Once you visited the area you will understand how hard it is to find a inexpensive place to eat. My only complaints about the hotel are:
1. There are no ice machines in any buildings, to get ice you have to hike to the main hotel and get ice from the restaurant.
2. More check-in staff is needed. When we arrived or had questions there was only one person; and usually a line of people that needed help. So not very easy to get help and slow check-in.
Overall the property is nice and the inn buildings are historic looking. The hotel is located in a great location with a great price.

Room Tip: Stay at the inn on the hill portion, newer rooms.
