“They have lobster poutine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

You really don't need to read any further than the title. Lobster. Poutine. Together at last. If you're one of those people who don't like gravy on fries and therefore dislike poutine, more good news: it's a cream-sauce poutine, not brown-gravy that you would have seen before.

I sat down expecting the standard brown-gravy and was a little surprised with what I got, but enjoyed it greatly. Very charming restaurant with super-charming staff. Well worth a visit.

“Fish'n'Chips in Newspaper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

That's right, just like they do it "across the pond" in the UK...fish and chips served on newspaper (especially made for serving, I am sure). I do not "do" seafood and PEI, being an island, is famous for it's seafood which makes it a little challenging for me. We had read the many menus posted outside the various restaurants (a great idea) but did not feel like anything "too big" so, when we came across the Brit we took a chance that we would find something "small". Do not go here if you are looking for "small"...my lunch of chicken fingers and fries was huge, enough for two meals. The chicken fingers were delightful, not breaded but dipped in a light crunchy batter...and real pieces of chicken breast. My granddaughter ordered poutine and says that it is the best she has ever tasted. We were too full to have dessert but some of the selections looked quite interesting: Deep Fried Jam Sandwiches, Deep Fried Mars Bars, Banana Fritters, and more. The prices are very reasonable especially considering the The outside of the restaurant is very unassuming, you might almost miss it but it is worth looking for, you will be surprised. The staff are very friendly and make sure everything is satisfactory. Just in writing this I can almost taste those chicken fingers, this will be my "usual" place to eat next time I visit Charlottetown.

“Very good food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Great service!! The food was very tasty and the fish and chip portions were huge. If you aren't a big eater, stick with just one piece of fish. I had lobster poutine and it was delicious. Tried something different for dessert - deep fried mars bar and deep fried cheese cake - unusual but fun to eat. I'd definitely go back here.

“Incredible Fish & Chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

We ate at Brit's Fish & Chips on the recommendation of a friend. The options were excellent. The salad was amazing and the serving of pan fried haddock was huge and delicious. We were very impressed with this restaurant and would definitely return. The servers were terrific ... great suggestions, very friendly, and accurate in describing the meals and the time it would take to cook them..

“Very Good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

We ended up eating here twice (different dishes).
The Fish and Chips seemed pretty authentic to me (I grew up in Great Britain so should be a reasonable critic).
Service was good and the quality good.
Price was better at "Skip's" in Summerside.
