I liked the friendly front desk staff, rooms average, Restaurant not so much. Had a n meal, stuff chicken, could hardly chew parts of it. French onion had to much cheese. Waiter was not very friendly , asked if we wanted to see desert menu, total him I wanted to finish my wine first and I would decide. He brought the bill anyway. Parking not on site had to walk across street in the cold. Breakfast was good ,friendly but saw a bus boy scraping the so called clean plates with his finger nail to get dried on food off out in the restaurant right in front of us.
Bar person kept pushing us to see if we wanted our bill before we finished our drinks. Probably won't return.

The Casino in Windsor now dominates the downtown area, but I recently had occasion to stay in the Windsor Hilton. Although I have stayed in this property many times over the years, I was skeptical but decided to give it a chance, as its price point and location were very good. I was really pleasantly surprised. My room had been updated and was very comfortable, modern and clearn. I had a room in the front, which boasts one of the best views around of the Detroit skyline. Certain of the public areas of the hotel are undergoing updating, but those that were updated look very clean and sleek. For the price, I found the Windsor Hilton to be a very good value.

Room Tip: Certainly get a room facing the Detroit River for a terrific view of the Detroit skyline. It is def...

I stayed here during a brief business trip through Windsor. Check in was flawless, courteous and pleasant; room was clean and properly accessorized with towels etc. Some furnishings were dated. The TV though new was the fuzziest I have ever seen (really, can we not even manage SD never mind HD). The HVAC unit in the room was very loud. I slept soundly none-the-less but many travelers would have had a major issue with that. The lounge offered a nice view. All in all good value for what I paid, and would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Windsor.

Internet in room did not work, front desk was no help. The heater was not working and the room was freezing, my wife stayed wrapped in a blanket. I selected a diet pepsi in the vending machine and received a pepsi. The restaurant was good; nice place to eat, but not to sleep.

Room: We were in Room 1311 which is one of the newly renovated king rooms river view. The room was okay, it had a flat screen tv which did not have a very good picture. The bed was good. The view was very nice (a higher floor probably even better). The shape of the room is very odd, pictures are pretty accurate.

Service: The maid service was excellent, she did a fantastic job and was very kind.

Restaurant: The hostess was so nice. The continental breakfast was worst than any hilton property I have ever stayed at (Hampton Inn is nicer). Basically fruit and cereal and packaged bread is all you will get.

Parking: We did the valet which was very convenient, I believe it was approximately $18. They were very quick to get our car every time we needed it.

Overall a very limited hilton, no extras for Hilton Honors, not even a mention of it. Very standard, nothing special.

Room Tip: River View was nice (1111, 1211, 1311, etc...).

Had read a lot of bad things on the internet...but thankfully proved wrong.
Hotel is right on the waterfront, and has amazing views of the Detroit and River skyline from the rooms. Large rooms with comfortable beds and amenities. Within walking distance of many restaurants (quite a few beggars about). Only downside of a downtown location is that parking is an additional charge. Drive to the front door of the lobby allows you to either opt for valet parking at 20CAD or self park at 14 CAD.

My husband paid extra for the panoramic view room for an anniversary getaway. The room was small and smelled like an old room that had just been steam cleaned too much. Just to get to the hotel you have to part in a lot that is only across the street by then walk through a smelly old building that is mostly vacant. Was NOT worth paying extra. The view is nice, the bed was fine, but nothing special. BE WARNED, we went down for brunch on Sunday after looking at the menu schedule we expected to be able to order. It was buffet only and we made the mistake of assuming the price was inline with the other dishes, no price was listed for it otherwise. It was over $22 pp for the buffet and it was not anything special. Actually semi limited on brunch type food. We ran into that problem with a couple of restaurants in the area too. They would display one reasonably priced menu and when we were seated we are told that's only for lunch, priced doubled for dinners. On a good note, there are lots of places within walking distance and some food places are open pretty late for the bar crowd. Caesars was nice if you like casinos.

Room Tip: Nearby late night food places. Sundays the town is dead.
