“Superb view of Detroit and annual fireworks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2010

On the night of the joint Windsor-Detroit annual fireworks, husband and I stayed at this Radisson. Great view for fireworks - either from hotel room or park across the street. The Windsor side seems to accommodate more spectators than the Detroit side of the river, as there is a long riverwalk/parkway where people can gather.
Our room was relatively small, but had a very comfortable Sleep Number bed. The parkway along the river (there is one on the Detroit side as well) is wonderful. There are beautiful plantings - small gardens really - along the river walk and room for walkers, bikers and skaters. River view rooms face directly on the river, with only one street and the parkway between hotel and river. Barges, sailboats, freighters move along the river - fun to watch. The Detroit skyline is the better view when compared to the Windsor skyline - the city alight at night affords quite a nice view. Hotel staff were polite and efficient. We didn't really need anything from them. One thing we did not like is that there is an 80 cent charge on each local call -- use your own cellphone.

Thank you for your feedback and comments. We are glad that you enjoyed the full panaromic view from our guest rooms. Windsor has a beautiful view of Detroit Skyline and offers Sculpture park, Dippie garden right on the riverfront.

We do look forward to welcome you as return guest at the Radisson Riverfront Hotel Windsor.

We found the location of this hotel to be excellent. There are many great restaurants within walking distance. The riverfront walkway is also very nice and you can walk to the casino easily. The interior of the hotel is very dated and dirty. All of the elevators ( to the rooms and to the parking garage) were filthy and stinky. The hallways and rooms seemed liked they were untouched for 25 years. The pool had the same dirty towels in the laundry basket all weekend and there was sand all over the floor of the pool. My impression is that either they are severely understaffed or just don't care. The front desk ladies were helpful and courteous.

This is the second Radisson I've stayed in recently; the other was in Ottawa. The hotel in Windsor is well located and if you get a room with a view of Detroit, it is quite pleasant. he room is basic and quite small if you choose double beds. The beds are the type that allow you to adjust the firmness. I do not find these beds suit me; I had a sore back each morning. Also, the duvet is extremely heavy and there is no blanket so you are stuck with just a sheet. There is no fridge either so if you have anything that needs to be kept cool, too bad. The TV is in a cabinet and it does not come out far enough or turn so that you can see it properly from even the second bed. There is only the desk chair which is not that comfortable for reading; I don't enjoy reading in bed. We did not succeed in adjusting the power of the shower in our room; it woke us up with a blast! The Hilton is next door, and the room I saw there was much better equipped. For breakfast, we also had to use the restaurant at the Hilton because the one in the Radisson was booked for some event during the two days we were there. Both hotels are connected to the Conference Centre, which is convenient. The hotel staff at the Radisson do not go out of their way to be helpful.

Stayed here for 1 night at the Radisson Riverfront. Great location on the river. Lobby is nice. room #507 was not. Holes in the ceiling, paint chipped, dirty curtains and carpets. The beds were infact okay, with clean sheets. But a small beetle typed thing was crawling up the side of the bed. Turned out to be an "okay" sleep, but room was dissapointing. Price to high for value. Would not recommend but, fine for 1 night.

While traveling through Windsor I spent a night at the Radisson. The staff here is great and they always go that extra step to make you feel welcome and valued as a guest.

This is a great place to stay while in Windsor. Take some time to walk along the riverfront, and have a nice dinner at The Pitt for Pasta located just behind the hotel

We stayed in the Radisson twice in the last month; the second time was as we enjoyed the first time so much. The location is excellent (right on the river and around the corner from Windsor's main street, Ouellette Avenue) and offers perfect views of the Detroit skyline from the room, the pool (!), and the restaurant.

Staff were very attentive, and remembered us when we were back three weeks later; we'd particularly like to thank Maureen at the front desk for making us feel at home. Next time we're in Windsor, we will definitely stay here again.

We booked this hotel through price line and were hoping that this hotel would be the one of our two top choices to stay at. We won more ways than one, we won by bidding, we won by location and won by staff that went out of their way for us. We had requested a very late check in, a queen or king bed and smoking room.

What we got was: 2 double beds, smoking room and our late check in. But in order to get the request in we had to get priceline to do this for us as the hotel would not accept this from us when we called in our request. Even though price line says to contact hotel directly for these. Not sure who is blame for this. But not a major issue.

When were being checked in a group of young adults were walking in with a few cases of beer and mentioned what room they were in. When we got our room key I happen to mention to front desk staff that they would be beside us, no offer to change us to another room. (it was past 11 o'clock at night when we checked in, how was front desk to know that they were party animals). Needless to say the party animals partied hard until front desk was called a couple hours later to ask to quiet them down. This again (the party animals) not the hotels fault. We were in an adjoining room, will never take an adjoining room again.

We asked in the morning if the party animals were checking out that day and were told yes and that because of what happen they would be putting in an older couple in that room. Good news and a nice quiet nights sleep we were happy.

My husband is not a small man so one double bed was for him and I took the other one. we would of preferred the queen or king but our thinking is we got the room for very good price so maybe this is the price you pay for winning on priceline.

We did know ahead of time that you had to pay for parking 10 bucks a night and taxes, the garage area is very dirty and aways from the hotel. What we did find is that you can park in the parking lot that is just as close to hotel as parking garage on Saturday and Sundays for 2 bucks a day.

the good parts of hotel - it is clean, the staff are very friendly and very accommodating, we had them call us cabs and there was never an issue, they took care of the p[arty animals within minutes. The pool area clean and warm. The restaurant had good food but pricey hotel food. I was not willing to pay 9 bucks for pancakes. Housekeeping staff were wonderful to us, we asked for extra things coffee, creamer packages and towels are they were there. Bathrooms were clean but grout in shower area could use a good cleaning, (minor thing).

There is a shuttle to casino and it on schedule in front lobby.

We did enjoy our stay at the hotel in spite of the party animals (not hotels fault). We will be in Windsor again in the next two months and we have already won another bid through priceline at this hotel so we will be there again. We will stay there and hopefully have a quiet first night.but enjoy the same service as we did from the staff. The location is very nice
