“Walking in proved the name”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

My boyfriend and I were dying for Indian food and decided to try Aroma which was just around the corner from where we were staying. As soon as we walked in my mouth was watering. You enter and go upstairs where you pass a window looking in on a man making naan. Instantly got hunger pains!! The service was fast and friendly and the view of the street from our table was a lot of fun since the streets were packed and it had started to rain. The food was fantastic, fresh, and fast. Of course I had to try the naan which was perfect! I would definitely go there again.

“great indian buffet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

buffet style self serve,
good variety with different sauces + meats,
good for the veggies with fresh salads + such,
self serve ice cream in a freezer,

you can watch them cook the naan bread at the back stairway,

windows for viewing king + john street activity near the theatres,
the only inconvenience is the walk up a stairway,
no elevator for those in need,

one of the best indian buffets in toronto ...........................

enjoy

“Authentic Indian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Really good Indian food. Good vegetarian dishes. Decent service. Run by Indians and not Bangladeshis, thank god for that.

“Decent Indian food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Restaurant in middle of city, Food offered reasonable Indian taste, but then in a foreign country anything Indian would probably taste the same - what was most displeasing though was a small stone which was part of one of the dishes which chopped off some part of my chewing teeth - the owner felt a 10% discount would compensate for the displeasure, without being one bit apologetic - I think they need to have better respect to the clientèle they serve. No wonder there were just three tables, including mine that was occupied. May be i ought to have chosen to walf another 50 meters as there was an alternative available, which i did not try.

“The Aroma of Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

With the pungent and delicious odor of tandoori and curry wafting through the dinning room, down the stairs and spilling out onto King Street, it’s only fitting this Indian restaurant should be named “Aroma.” Like many of Toronto’s dinning treasures, Aroma blends unobtrusively into the texture of the neighborhood, awaiting those who know where to go for good food. Located almost directly across the street from the Princess of Wales Theater, which hosts many award-winning Broadway productions, Aroma is a popular pre-show dinner choice… reservations recommended. Once up the stairs, you’ll find about a dozen tables, those with a window view most favored, of course.

The menu offers a wide range of common Indian favorites… tandoori chicken, butter chicken, palak paneer, plus many lesser-known specialties. Dishes served to surrounding tables, had us wishing we could try one of everything. As it was, we ended up ordering much more than we knew we could eat…samosa, naan, rice, saag, curry vegetables, and butter chicken. It was all delicious, with their butter chicken dish being one of the best we’ve had anywhere. Sadly, having to leave leftovers is one of travel’s little drawbacks… especially around midnight, when thoughts of a tasty snack come to haunt.

Highly recommended. Give Aroma a smell and taste… you won’t be sorry.
