“Good food, late nights, always busy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

Wow this place is busy! Chinese restaurant with mainly Asian people eating there-must be real good authentic Chinese food. It is open prety much 24 hours a day so even at 11:00 p.m on a Saturday night it was full with many large families/groups of 8-12 aorund a large round table. They have Dim Sum, Peking Duck, live seafood in tanks as you enter and all the other favourites ordered a la carte from an extensive menu. Not the cheapest but with such large volumes they are not nearly the most expensive either. Went on a Saturday night in February and it was jam packed-can only imagine it in the summer as the bars get out and people want a real meal instead of fast food. Parking can be a bit of an issue as it is in a strip mall but late at night all the other stores are closed.

“"Cantonese" service, great food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

Of all the servers pushing their dimsum carts around, only one or two have a basic grasp of English. The rest are content to stick to Cantonese and are unwilling or unable to describe the ingredients of their fare when asked. So sampling is a bit luck of the draw, but at $1.80 a pop, you won't go broke trying. They also seem to be in a bit of a hurry to answer questions or get to know you due to the huge lineup for seats.
But it's all fair, you knew the deal going in. You're there for the food at a certain price, nor are the washrooms "unrenovated" (to say the least) like some other Chinese restaurants. And, minimally, the tablecloth's new and the utensils squeaky clean.
Some decent deals to be had on the special menu cards on each table--less than 5 bucks for certain items available 24/7 (e.g. fried long beans with minced meat) or after 11:30 a.m. (e.g. egg/beef noodles). Don't miss these. What can't be eaten is cheerfully doggybagged.

“Good dimsum, affordable prices & TERRIBLE service!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2012 via mobile

Dimsum is about half price on the weekends but expect a 30-2hour wait depending on ethnicity, and # of people in your party. My family has been going here for years and recently I have noticed how the service gets worse everytime!!! If you're not Chinese or Asian those dimsum ladies won't even stop and allow you to order. Multiple times I had to get up and run after them for a chance of grabbing fresh shu Mai and har gow, my friends still laugh about that incident. As far as food is concerned it is good stuff! I always leave here with a full belly and a somewhat frustrated demeanor due to the long agony of waiting to be seated and served properly. I suggest you bring a Cantonese/Mandarin speaking friend to translate and order since most of the cart ladies don't speak a word of English. I will still keep coming back but they need a much more organized way of reserving tables and perhaps an English course for their servers won't hurt neither.

“Great tasting food. Great value.”

I have been a regular for years. I don't go for the decor, I go back because of the flavorful food and the great prices.

“For the price, it cannot be beat!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2011

This hidden restaurant is popular with the locals who know about it. My aunt and uncle are regulars there and this is the first time they brought me there for dinner. For the price this place charges, it can't be beat! 10$ for a BBQ duck and another 10$ for fresh Vancouver crab?!?! Are you nuts?!?! The food was delicious, service was great. To top it off, this place is open 24/7. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in town. We were 5, ordered 4 dishes and it came to 52$ tax and tips included! Excellent value!
