“Fantastic food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2010

Even as a meat eater i was bowled over by the flavours.
Tasty and fresh , i tried 4 dishes and all were spot on (hot and sour soup (full of veggies and nicely spicy, Curried puff (delcious, crispy), veggie dumpling (light and tasty) and a avocado temaki, which as a fish eater i can tell you was so tasty i didn't miss it.
I don't recommend many places, this is a MUST!!!

possibly the best veggie meal i have ever had!

p.s. ginseng tea to wrap it up was great!

“Fake meats galore”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2008

King's Cafe doesn't have much in the way of ambience, but it serves up a decent portion of food for a very low price. This is especially rare in the middle of Kensington Market. If you are into bean curd or faux meats, this is a fine, cheap place to find something to nosh on. The "happy ham" is realistic enough to have people taking a second look at it.

However, with one of Toronto's most bustling Chinatowns only a block away, you can find far more authentic and equally inexpensive Asian fare within walking distance without any trouble.

“Well, not that the food...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2008

Well, not that the food isn't any good, but it does lack some character of its own. On top of that, it offers too many artifical meat or seafood selections. Hmm...not really thrilled to go again...
