Description: The Hot House Restaurant & Bar is one of the busiest restaurants in Toronto and the reason is clear... Great food. The Hot House offers spacious, colourfully decorated rooms and an upbeat atmosphere in addition to an eclectic menu to suit all tastes. From thin-crust gourmet pizzas to steaks, rack of lamb, Cajun shrimp, numerous pasta dishes, seasonal salads, and decadent desserts, this menu has it all, including an extensive vegetarian selection. The Hot House Restaurant & Bar also has an extensive selection of wines from around the world, as well as an impressive cocktail menu and a selection of offerings from Canadian microbreweries. The sun-drenched 150 seat patio at the Hot House is an excellent setting to sample some fine Italian wines, Canadian craft beers, or the one of the best mojitos and margaritas in the city. In addition to the patio and the eclectic menu, the Hot House also offers group menus and private areas ideal for birthdays, showers, office parties, meetings, or any other function.

“Overrated brunch”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

Too much food, strange combinations and too many people. Service is meh. There is much better choices for brunch with less hype.

“Nice suprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

Recommended by co-workers, great location, not far from downtown core. Nice selections and good service. Food was well prepared and served while hot.

“Hot Stuff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

There's a huge selection of food here to suit just about everyone's taste, including a few completely vegetarian options. This is quite a large restaurant so they are able to handle walk-in's who don't have a reservation. It is conveniently located right downtown near the St. Lawrence Market affording those staying in hotels a short distance away a nice walk through a different neighbourhood. It's relatively close to the Theatre and Distillery Districts as well.

There used to be a buffet on Wednesday nights; not sure if that still exists. However, the Sunday brunch buffet is truly something to behold. Bus loads of people (...literally) come for this buffet so if you plan on brunch, plan to get there early!

At dinner each table receives a mini loaf of freshly baked sourdough and a cup of butter. It arrives hot and steaming to your table and is completely irresistable. Service is great, portions are generous and I have never been disappointed with anything on the menu.

Enjoy!

“Great jazz band”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

Nice live band. Food was average but plentiful. More of a lunch buffet than a breakfast buffet.

“Best brunch buffet in the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

Good food, amazing atmosphere.
When I went there was a jazz band that played live music too. But sometimes the line up for the food was kind of long.
