I'm lucky to have eaten at some of the world's best restaurants (Alinea, La Pergola, WD-50, Daniel), and I would say my meal at Colborne Lane was of a similar quality. My wife and I ate there May 5, 2012, and the experience was fantastic. We had the tasting menu, which consisted of approximately ten inventive, creative, and delicious courses. Despite the unusual approach to cooking, the food was presented without pretense, and never did I feel that the modern technique was used just for the sake of using it.
Many reviewers have commented on poor service. Our experience could not have been more different. Our server was friendly and accommodating (for example, my wife does not eat lamb, so they substituted a delicious short rib for that course - no hassle or argument. Another example - the meal took longer than usual, we were there for about 2.5 hours. We didn't mind at all, but our server and the manager both apologized profusely).
I will absolutely eat here again.
