I confess I didn't find this restaurant, it was recommended to me by a friend as a good place at the edge of the city, to avoid going downtown. The setting of the restaurant in a strip mall along a commercial thoroughfare was a bit doubtful, but all doubts vanished when we walked in the door. The greeting was warm and welcoming. The room is dressed like a better restaurant, and lit to the advantage of the diners. You can talk easily with the people at your table without shouting. The menu is classic Italian, and each dish well executed. The daily special mushroom puree was smooth and earthy without any cream, a perk for those of us who don't want dairy. The pastas were all generous servings, very fresh, and well seasoned. We had house made gnocchi and ravioli stuffed with lobster. We also had branzino, a favorite fish, perfectly grilled and boned, with very nice vegetables and really delicious roasted potatoes. We had to be good and share a dessert because we were so careful with the rest of the meal, and it too was fresh and delicious. The house wine was delicious. Our server was charming throughout, attentive and considerate, automatically bringing the extra forks with our one dessert, and making sure we were happy. This restaurant goes on my list because the food is fresh, well prepared, and served with love, the parking is free, and the service is charming. The price is very reasonable for this combo, and I will recommend this place for anyone who wants a very nice dinner without the drive into town.
