“If it ain't broke...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Country Style hasn't changed since I first visited it 30 plus years ago. when I say hasn't changed, I mean the menu, the decor, table cloths, cutlery, etc. Everything is exactly the same.

Food's good though, and this is the place to be if you're looking for hearty homestyle Hungarian fare. We ordered the "small" wooden platter (says it feeds 1-2, but it was more than enough for 2 adults and 2 small children to stuff ourselves). It came with a cabbage roll, 2 different varieties of schnitzel (huge pieces), Hungarian sausage, rice and home fries. We ordered dumplings with gravy on the side. Definitely more than satisfied my craving.

The worst thing that could ever happen to this place would be to go on Restaurant Makeover - leave it alone! ...(cash only)

“General”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

a very big restaurant with a lot of seats.
I had: Goulash soup ($ 5.75 small), beets salad, Super Natural Schnitzel with dumplings and mushrooms ($19.95). Very good service, although their Dobosh Tort ended and they didn't have more.
Attention, payment is in CASH ONLY!

“One of the last few Dissapearing European Restaurants Left”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

We enjoyed our lunch, My wife made a good choice by having the hunter schnitzel, it was awesome. My son and I however, were disappointed with the chicken paprikas, it lacked flavour. Only after I dumped salt, pepper and paprika on it, that were on the table, I could enjoy it. I love Hungarian food because of it's spicy flavours, so I expected some and didn't get it. The very nice waitress said that they get families with children, that's why it's not spicy. She offered to bring some hot sauces, but never did. The deserts were delicious.

“still great hungarian food after many years”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

food is still great,
they still use their original recipes,
if it ain't broke they are not fixing it,
portions are large,

soup only comes in large,
which is the size of a meal on its own,
they should offer a cup size + charge less as an appetizer,

ordered perogies + sausage appetizer,
half a hungarian sausage + 7 perogies + coleslaw,
which was large enough as an entree,
this would be too large for one's appetizer,

also ordered natural schnitzel with mashed potatoes + coleslaw,

rye bread served before main course,

they only accept cash, no cards, no debit,

decor has not changed, still looks 1970s,

go if you want a great hungarian meal ...............................

enjoy

“Authentically Hungarian, wholesome and unpretentious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

What it lacks in atmosphere, the restaurant makes up in quality of food and value. It serves more than generous portions of authentically Hungarian cuisine. The Goulash soup packed a punch, the Bean soup delicious, the Wiener Schnitzel moist and tasty; the marinated cucumber side salad complemented the dish. Although we did not order 'Palacsinta' - the Hungarian version of pancake, from previous visits I know how delicious they are.
