“Mediocre food and service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Both the quality of food and service are average at best at this restaurant. Its surprising it has lasted so long in downtown Toronto considering how many options people have in the area. The prime rib was dry and the french fries soggy. The prices are comparable to The Keg which is much better in quality and service and only a few blocks away.

“Hit or miss”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Lovely welcome by the hostess at the front desk. Not busy as this was Labour Day.

Drink were basic but got mixed up much to the surprise of my son who got tonic water instead of 7up.
Caesar salad was passable. Lettuce crisp but We got dry sprinkled parmesan when next table got fresh was strange. Croutons out of a box don't impress anyone.

The lobster bisque didn't taste of lobster but texture was fine.

The water glasses were refilled in a torrent that cascaded on the table without so much as a blink by the busgirl who walked away without mopping it up.

Mains were pretty good. Ribs were great, chicken tenders tasted like nothing, steak was good, carrots nicely tender crisp but broccoli a mushy mess.

This one is hit or miss.

“Portions too big for us brits”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

Food of good quality and the atmosphere was good but groaned at the size of the portions. I hate leaving food and it goes against the grain but I really struggled to do justice to my plate and left. I really felt like asking for a child's portion but not sure I would have been accommodated.

“Best ribs ever”

Ribs were great. Service was even better. Carrot cake enough for three. Cheesecake sampler is great. Could improve the Irish Coffee.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

I had my heart on gumbo or jambalaya figuring this was a New Orleans type restaurant. They didn't have either went with server suggestion for ribs and they were very good had carrot cake foe dessert it was ok
Service was very good restaurant seemed a little slow inside but appeared to have many people sitting outside. Inside appears to be fancy bad very nice. Meal on expensive side 54 dollars 2 people 2 rib lunches 2 tap water 1 coffee and 1 carrot cake
