“Good place for a meet up”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

Met up with some friends to watch a UK soccer match at the bar. The food was good, my burger was particularly juicy. (On another visit, the brunch was good too.) Friendly staff and patrons. The central location is great, it's located in the financial district, on the subway line, and only a few blocks from union station. It's a large architectural room that was once a bank, with high ceilings and it can get quite loud if its busy. Washrooms are downstairs. Will definitely go back for the convenient location and good overall experience.

“Good Fish and Chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

Great place to eat. Very casual atmosphere. Service seemed to be a little bit slow, but the fish and chips were excellent.

“Not Impressed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

We made the mistake of booking a birthday celebration here the evening of February 2.

Our group of eight received good service but that is where the accolades end. The food was poor, even if you used the excuse it is pub grub. This is no House on Parliament or Bettys. The fish and chips were abysmal. soggy and bland. The Lamb Stew was mostly large hunks of tasteless potatoes and carrots accompanied by tough lamb. Chicken wings, tough as well. Fish tacos, breaded (?) and dry with a salty sauce. On and on, but the coffee was good as was the beer selection. Our server was very helpful and attentive and did bring a birthday dessert (free) for the person of honour. One other plus, it really is a rather attractive space but the beauty is very much skin deep.

All in all, there is no way we'll return. There are SO many other great pubs to choose from.

“Worst time ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

Finally got the Irish embassy for dinner an what a let down beer was flat an warm an double the price I'm use to for a Saturday night wasn't very busy but still waited 35 minutes for our meal if you can call it that I had a dry charred beef disk which I was told was a burger my date ordered the salmon which looked more like an appetizer then a meal both way over priced have had more satisfying meals at McDonalds I'll never go back to the Irish embassy again!!!

“The service and food were very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

I stopped in here with friends before a concert. My friend had made reservations and after a moments wait at the front door we were promptly seated. I ordered the fish and chips and thought that they were quite good. The service was excellent too as we had a number of staff members checking up on us. When we first got there, an NFL playoff game was on and it was quite loud. We noticed that 1 or 2 people appeared to actually be watching it, so we asked the waitress if it would be possible to turn it down a little and they happily obliged. I would absolutely return here for a meal. The price was what I expected it to be for downtown Toronto.
