“Ate there twice in one week!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

The food is awesome, can't be beat! Try the Mango Salad and the Green Curry. Wish our city in California had such good food. Great service, great value!

“Not Thai and not Shan”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2011

Apparently they have recently reopened ....
First of all this is NOT a Thai restaurant. It is a lousy Chinese restaurant. I ordered 3 dishes and all 3 were buried in a soupy brown sauce even the rice. The people who are Chinese were nice but they need to remove the Thai name and learn to cook! I lived in Thailand for 10 years ...

“Very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2011

I traveled here with my wife and we loved the food. We went on a weekend and had to wait 45 minutes but it was well worth it.I did try to call to make reservations but they were full and said to just come in. So I would recommend to make your reservations 24 hours in advance. Smaller place but the ambiance is nice and cozy. The person who sat us is the owner and his wife is the chef. Staff was friendly and made recommendations. I had the Pad Thai and was impressed. I've had Pad Thai in Thailand and this held it own against it. Make sure to drink a Singha beer. Overall this is an authentic Thai restaurant that is reasonably priced with great good. If I am ever in Toronto again, I would visit.

“So Sad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2011

I've been eating at the former location of the Thai Shan Inn since the 80's
I've always loved their food, and the old location was good for a chuckle
Since they've relocated and gone "upscale", things have gone downhill
My husband and I ate at the new restaurant in November, and again on Sat. Feb. 12th
We ate at 6 pm, so there were only six other people in the restaurant
Our server was a young man who had no serving experience. He gave us our menu's, tea, and then left us until we flagged him down to take our orders
We ordered mango salad as an appetizer (good) and pad thai with garlic eggplant
Our pad thai arrived as soup. There was so much sauce it was a messy experience
Our garlic eggplant arrived long after we ate the noodles, and a more experienced server came to change our plates and offered us rice to mix with the veg.
Yes, the ambience is very nice, but the quality and service has left
