“Save room for dessert.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

The Ocean Wise certificate brought me here. That, and the reputation of their Pastry Chef. The menu is excellent and fish dishes delicious. My only complaint would be the temperature of the food. It was tepid. The wine list is very extensive with many wonderful Canadian wines. The dessert was the crowning glory. Their signature banana coconut tart was sublime. A very good yet pricey choice if you are looking for a restaurant close to the Royal Conservatory of Music.

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013 via mobile

I visited Pangaea for the first time for Winterlicious and was not disappointed; in fact, I'm in love. I had the Farm to Table Sweet Potato Gnocchi and it was truly one of the best things I have ever eaten. Total perfection! For dessert I had a delicious apple cinnamon pana cotta that I can't live without. Call me dramatic, but returning is a must! Well done!!

“Outstanding winterlicious lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

We had the winterlicious lunch menu and were treated to an amazing array of delicious dishes. For appetizers, we started off with tender Grilled Quail glazed with soy and honey ,accompanied by a celery root, wild mushroom and crispy potato salad & Tempura Lake Erie Perch Fillets which, albeit a tad underseasoned, was complemented by a delicious charred corn salsa, red pepper jam and cilantro shallot salad.
For the mains, we had the Pan roasted Ocean Trout with the raisin, capers beurre noisette, which was palate-pleasing. The Slow Braised Cap Steak with sweet garlic puree, watercress vinaigrette & pan jus was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
The icing on the cake consisted of the fabulous dessert of smoth and creamy Toasted Cinnamon Panna Cotta served on moist ginger molasses cake , with baked diced apples and a topping of crispy kataifi, which was an outstanding composition of textures and flavours . The Flourless Dark Chocolate Torte with espresso whipped cream, crisp almond meringue & poached cranberries was just as delicious.
Service was prompt and the ambience was good. Definitely worth a visit.

“Winterlicous”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Went to this restaurant last week for Winterlicious dinner. Dinner was quite good as was the service. I didn't find the atmosphere to be all that wonderful, maybe a bit on the modern/cavernous side for me.

The food was quite good; my husband loved his main course vegetarian option (farm table) in particular.

I don't know if I would come back here for a second time, but was very happy with our experience at Pangaea.
