I've often turned to Aki Da for sushi. The neighbourhood alternative, Sushi Marché, does offer incredible sushi, but at much higher prices. I have been rather ho-hum about the sushi at Aki Da but when a craving hit and I didn't want to break the bank, they were my go-to place. In December, I ordered delivery from Aki Da and tried something we never had before: we ordered their Teriyaki chicken teppanyaki-style. I was impressed that they would deliver tappanyaki stuff. BUT, I have to say, it was the worst teriyaki chicken I have ever had or seen. The chicken was fatty, full of gristle. It actually gave the impression that they had cooked up whatever lower-quality chicken pieces leftover that they had. There was absolutely no redeeming value in the meal - which cost us about $100 for 4 people. I give up. I threw away the numerous Aki Da flyers I had around the house and never will return. Sorry Aki Da - you can have lower quality and lower prices, or higher quality and higher prices - and, if you're lucky, higher quality and low prices. But NEVER EVER offer lower quality for high prices.
