“No Coffee”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

Good hotel, staff need a little enthusiasm. Coffee is usually available at hotels in this price range, had to stand in line and pay for a cup, not used to this. Rooms had minimal electrical outlets. Lighting was also "dark".

Good location, close to the airport and a good selection of restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: Make sure you are away from the elevators, they have lots of rooms located near the elevator. Also f...

Stayed here for 5 nights as part of a convention- nice 1 bedroom suite with full kitchen, washer and dryer, living room- all for an amazing rate. On site restaurant, Moxie's, was outstanding, and hotel itself was a hit with everyone. Seems like a lot of pilots and airline staff call this an extended home as well- between 4 and 6am they are heading out of the lobby. The only downfall were all the "hockey kids"- running down hallways, yelling and screaming and pushing guests out of the way to get into the elevator. Not the hotel's fault.
Regardless, looking forward to returning next year. Nice to have a couch and kitchen for the extended time on the road.

We stayed in this hotel for a night only in anticipation of a next day flight. Chaos, disorder and filth - if we had to sum our stay up in 3 words.

First the parking was disorganized - people were parking wherever there was black top and our impression was that management didn`t seem to care - I`m guessing the Fire Marshall might have had something to say.

Check-out and departure from the hotel was even worse as the drive to the entrance was blocked by tour busses, and there were insufficient staff at the front desk to close accounts. Again an apparent lack of interest by management.

Walking into our room was like walking back in time to an apartment in the 70`s. Filthy, dim, old stained rugs and furnishings, washroom tile in poor repair and poorly repaired.

Foyer looks nice - but that was the extent of capital expenditures on site.

The experience was like staying in a room in a rental house in the east part of town somewhere. Apparent lack of interest in quality or comfort - Just neon lights at checkout.
I`ll never stay at another Sandman.

Room Tip: For a good room, stay somewhere else. Many choices adjacent. We took a suite and were very disappoin...

Great girl at the desk go us in our room 9.00 AM, everyone here is ready to please and Moxie's was a pleasant experience. Will be back for sure. Parking was free; another plus. They have a coffee nook downstairs if you just want a bite.

We checked in here at about 11:00pm after an epic fail at a trendy downtown hotel. They matched the hotels.com rate, and we were happy with that. Parking was 12.00 which I thought was excessive, but hey, it's Toronto. There's a Moxie's attached which is great. Our room had a king bed, small kitchen, and a sitting area as well. It was clean and spacious. Check in and out was quick and efficient. No major complaints, would definitely stay again.

Quiet / priced right / friendly / clean / restaurant in site / free shuttle service to the airport / free parking while away / will certainly use again & recommend to others. The restaurant is a bit pricey but it is right on site which is very helpful.

Room Tip: Moxies restaurant is a bit pricey but excellent.

shuttle service is very convenient and it's very frequent. i really like the room decor, modern, simple and crisp lean feel. the room we stayed has a kitchen and big fridge. since the location is a little far from the city, we bought grocery during our stay. some people may feel the location is a little far, since it's near the airport. but we think it's a great benefit. toronto downtown traffic is really bad and it's very hard to find parking spot. here at Sandman it's easy to park.
