“One Of The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

We had a Luxury King Room for five nights. Decided to stay based upon reviews on TripAdvisor. The service was immaculate, with a limo pickup from the airport and a personalised welcome on arrival. Beautiful room with heated floors in one of the most beautiful bathroom's ever! Fantastic amenities. We had breakfast there every morning too, which was an excellent choice. Great coffee!
Were we ever back in Toronto, I'd stay there again.

Very nice boutique hotels nestled in the middle of Yorkville. Staff was friendly at check-in and walked me to my room (401). Well appointed room with comfy bed. There was a pillow menu placed on my bed after turndown service, but it was tool late when I got back to call housekeeping and wait for pillow choice. (The 4 that came with the room were suffice). My only complaint is that the Mini Bar is week. They should add some Spirits to the Mix...just saying.

Room Tip: The Hotel only has 4 floors so don't expect and grandiose views.

As a Leading Hotel of the World member you are pretty much guaranteed that the Hazelton will be an excellent hotel--but what you don't expect is how warm and genuine the five-star service will be From bellman to front desk to room service to concierge--all deliver flawless service--and do it with a real sense of personal care and warmth. That is so hard to find now--even in the best of hotels (as I experienced in the fall at the new Four Seasons Toronto, sadly). As a Leader's Club member I was upgraded to an Executive Suite and it was modern, beautiful, but in no way cold. Huge room--and striking dressing area and bathroom. Pretty much one of the best hotel bathrooms I have ever seen, and since this was a birthday surprise for my wife who loves stunning hotel bathrooms--a real winner on all counts. Heated floors, incredible shower and tub, excellent products, lots of high-end towels--and on and on. And, unlike at the cold-as-ice bathroom at the new Four Seasons Toronto, I could actually figure out the sink faucet and shower knobs! Also, the escort to the room by front desk staff was gracious, and the information shared useful. Even in a luxury hotel sometimes the small touches are remembered--like the fact that all non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar are on the house, or the way that the rose petals I had scattered on the bed to surprise my wife were replaced after turndown, or that the remotes were enclosed in little protective cardboard cases or the lovely bowl of fruit--all good things. I also loved the tv in the bathroom mirror (my wife says it's a guy thing). The centrepiece of the night was the surprise party for 14 in the private Neil Young Room at the hotel restaurant--One. One is always exceptional, but the menu variety, attention to detail and--again--warm attentive service from server Nathaniel and special event contact Madeline are what made the night perfect. All in all--a perfect stay--and I highly recommend the hotel, and restaurant.

Room Tip: Apparently some rooms--like junior suites--have little view--the fourth floor executive suite did an...

. . . . and those at this establishment couldn't be more helpful, attentive and charming - from the front desk to the absolutely fantastic concierges, from the guys who deliver room service to the housekeeping staff, each one of them contributed to the success of our visit to Toronto.

The hotel is in the Yorkville part of town, a mere spit from the Royal Ontario Museum and every swanky shop you could possibly want. The area bristles with good restaurants and a cab is never far away if you need one. The rooms are very spacious with good linen, huge TVs, a desk, good bedside lighting etc. We don't naturally tend towards the modernist decor that seems to be everywhere now and find it quite hard-edged and dark (we are of a certain age!), but it all worked so well and the lighting was perfect. Bathrooms were excellent - great underfloor heating, enormous towels and plenty of them, an amazingly deep bath and huge separate rainshower. A nitpick is that the Occitane shower gels etc were surprisingly fiddly and ungenerous and the minibar was very poorly stocked. And the electric curtain gizmo wasn't functioning in one of our rooms and no engineer appeared despite being requested. A little tweaking here and there is all that is needed.

The hotel restaurant is excellent - so many mouthwatering things to choose from the menu, all of which can be delivered to ones room. Breakfasts are heaven. Obligingly, room service managed to provide us with our particular juice concoction without batting an eyelid. The spa was excellent. My husband swam laps each morning and was happy to have the narrow pool to himself. Changing rooms very good. I had a treatment or two and found the experience very relaxing, unlike the dismal spa at our previous hotel.

So there you have it. If you are going to Toronto and feel like staying somewhere more intimate than the usual 5 star places on offer, I cannot imagine that you would or could find anywhere better than The Hazelton. A big Thank You to Dean, Mark, Padma and Helena and the whole team for making us feel at home in their city. And if you should need a driver, whisper the name Kabeer to the concierge. They'll know who you mean.

I stayed here with my daughter for a couple of nights - really excellent room and the bathroom and dressing area really was good - very thoughtful design.
We had a meal in the cafe area outside with was ok but the service wasn't great. Breakfast was average. Location is very good - lots of places to eat around and about.
So...overall this hotel scores well for its rooms but not so well for the rest - depends what you go for!

Perfectly situated next to some of the most chic restaurants and stores in town. The rooms are palatial. Free wifi. Amazing bathrooms. Great restaurant and bar. First class gym. Hard to top!

Good example of the service standards for business travel: I needed a new pitch book printed and bound on very short notice. The hotel staff turned it around in minutes. I will surely return both for business and for fun.

Wow, not much to say. The Hazelton just understand how to please their customers. Big rooms, very modern, clean as never seen before, comfy beds, great selection of pillows and REALLY good bathroom with good facilities.
I arrived early, around 6am. My room was ready, and first thing they said at the counter was "Welcome Mr. Skov-Jensen, it must have been a long flight, would you like a cold water?". It's a small things, but for me these things counts, A LOT.

I would absolutely go back. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Location is unbeatable by the way.
