“Excellent Place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

This is a great location, good value for the money and the kitchennets are really nice to have.
The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I have had. Although it says continental, it has eggs, pancakes..even had waffles one day. Overall great!! Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

“Lots of extras in this comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

I stayed here mid-week for 2 nights and they coincided with the social evenings held in the lounge-dining room on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. These involve a free light meal and non-alcoholic beverages - an opportunity which was taken up by families and individuals who, like me, didn't want to go out to dinner. Very friendly and helpful reception, comfortable bed, excellent buffet breakfast included - with oatmeal porridge(!) - and located within easy walking distance of the CN Tower, Steamwhistle Brewery and Chinatown.

Room Tip: Rooms up high are quiet. Avoid ones near the lift maybe.

“Excellent hotel for the category”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

This hotel is not in the same category as some luxurious hotels on Front street, but offers a superb alternative at a better price. The rooms are well furnished including fully equipped kitchens, free wifi and the decent (but not exceptional) free breakfast is a great addition. The direction team offers social events as appreciation to customers 2 or 3 times a week (during my stay: cocktail with snacks and alcohol on Tuesday and complimentary pasta/salads dinner on Wednesday). It is only about 5 minutes walk to the convention centre, the Rogers center and the CN tower. Many restaurants around. I had a special fare with the convention I attended (159$/night) and felt I found the best possible deal for such great location. If back to Toronto, I would certainly book the Marriott Residence Inn again.

Room Tip: Rooms away from elevators are probably quieter (I heard bips coming from elevators while in the room...

“Great breakfast, clean room; minor quibbles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

I stayed at this hotel on business in mid November 2012. The hotel is located just west of the main "core" - it was about a 10-12 minute walk to Yonge Street and 25 or so to the Eaton Centre. The nearest subway station is St. Andrew, and that was about a 6-minute walk. Things like the CN Tower, Union Station, theatres, etc. were just around the corner.

The most positive thing was the breakfast: it was excellent and included a wide selection of fruit, eggs and a meat, juice, tea, coffee, cereal and the wait staff were attentive; also included newspapers.

I used the business centre once to print a document and no complaints whatsoever.

The pool was closed the entire time for apparent emergency repairs; probably nothing they could have foreseen, but a bit disappointing.

The room I was in faced Wellington and I had no problems whatsoever with noise. The room was clean and well-stocked (but would have been nice to have a kettle or hot chocolate packets to go along with the tea/coffee - not a big deal), TV had a wide selection of channels and the housekeeping service was attentive.

A couple of minor quibbles: no garbage can/receptacle in the bathroom area that I could find, the bathroom light/fan couldn't be turned on individually, so it was a bit loud, and the ventilation/cooling fan aimed toward the bed (and was quite strong) so I had to turn it off to avoid getting wind chill, but then of course the room heated up.

Overall, a good choice - I paid $270/night (government rate) which seems like a reasonable price for downtown Toronto, but I have no basis to compare this.

“The best of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Stayed in many different apart-hotel in Toronto and many residence inn throughout N America. This is the best.

Great location for those on business, shopping, theatre, or nightlife;
The very best staff;
Clean comfortable room and facilities;
Great breakfast and they even rotate the protein - bacon, sausage, patties;
Free fast Internet.

This is clearly the best. For the Manager of this hotel, keep up the good work as I will be returning.

Room Tip: North facing room is best.
