Owner description: This perennial favorite is a modern-day speakeasy. The cramped space -- it seats only 100 -- is below street level, yet feels intimate rather than claustrophobic. Live jazz, whether Dixieland, New Orleans, or swing, belts out 6 nights a week. The epicenter for the swing dance craze in Toronto, this is still the place to watch glam hepcats groove.

“Awesome Boogie-Woogie...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

My husband and I went for a late dinner/show on October 2012. Saturday is no doubt the busiest time, but we were given a great table, awesome waitress (small petite cutie) and the food and drinks were delicious....ask for the Pork Loin sandwich you will not be disappointed. The band cranked out some awesome blues, swing and jazz numbers all filling the small but intimate space with great vibes and many feet thumping and heads bobbing. Would recommend this place highly...$10.00 cover charge and bathrooms are clean!!!! Big deal in my books...

The Manager will look after you wonderfully....do recommend to call and make a reservation and of course ask any questions you have, they are very friendly...

You gotta go there!!

“Relaxed atmosphere, good entertainment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

My husband and I had a light dinner here on a Wednesday evening as we wanted to celebrate our anniversary in a more relaxed way (as opposed to the usual dinner at a fine dining establishment). The sophisticated and friendly atmosphere was nice and for the $5 cover charge the performance was well worth it. The appetizers and pizza were better than I expected, though you do end up paying a lot for drinks. Unfortunately the beer was not on tap that night - so it was either bottled beer, cocktails or wine which ended up costing us more. No matter - it was still a good time and I would highly recommend this place.

“Love the vibe at this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

I have only gone to this place on a Wednesday Evening/Night. Around 9 pm the croud starts coming in so you can show up at this place for a late dinner on a Wednesday, get yourself a great seat, order some great food (large portions) and some drinks and relax until the croud pours in.

The music is awesome. The place is small and dimmly lit and the vibe is second to none. People dance the whole night!

After reading the reviews below I will make sure to check it out on other nights as well.

Highly Recommend for those who are not even huge Jazz Fans but love live entertainment.

“Great Jazz, unbeatable atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

The reservoir Lounge, like many jazz clubs, is cool, sophisticated and calm...until the music starts! Excellent food (and if you want a table after the band starts, you'd better book for dinner - the restaurant alone is worth the trip), great drinks and simply out of this world Jazz. I am personally in love with Didi Martini, the regular performer on Sarturday nights, and that band is tight tight tight.

There is always a crush, especially for the second show. Getting a drink can be difficult, and almost always involves pushing through a ball of humanity, hopping, singing, more-or-less throbbing along with the music. You should expect to make new friends, simply by trying to get TO the bar <g>. Stay loose, stay cool. It ain't about the booze - its about the vibe. And there is none better in Toronto, already THE hot spot in Canadian Jazz.

You'll get home late, you'll be tired - and you will fall asleep smiling. Come on down. Bring your happy.

“Music is great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

Never have a bad time at this unique spot in Toronto. Music is always great and the crowd is lively and fun. Dance floor couple be bigger and better located in front of the band, but that certainly didn't stop me from dancing all night! It has become a must stop whenever we spend an evening in Toronto.
