Owner description: The Princess of Wales Theatre is a new, 2000-seat playhouse built by the father and son producing team of David and Ed Mirvish, just a block away from their historic Royal Alexandra Theatre. “Mamma Mia!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

I had the pleasure of seeing Mamma Mia 7 times during it's extended run in Toronto during the spring/summer of 2010. Each performance was fantastic and was delivered by a top rate cast and an incredible 9 piece pit orchestra which was led by both Bill Congdon and Faith Seetoo respectively. The theater could not have been more well suited to house this incredible show. The sightlines regardless of where I sat were really good, the seats were comfortable with a good amount of legroom and the theatre's orchestra and dress circle lobbies were wide open and ideal for gathering and socializing both pre-performance and during intermission. Overall, a wonderful experience and I'd go back!

“War Horse was fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

We did the lottery and got tickets for only $25. It was a wonderful show. If you do the lottery afterwards go next door to Tim Hortons and have lunch or a snack. If you get lucky you may see some of the stars of the play coming in to get coffee and sandwiches.

If you ever get a chance to see this live theatre production - don't hesitate! The cast and puppets were absolutely amazing. I got in on a "lottery" draw for front row seats - go to the ticket office 2 hours before show time and enter your name. Paid $25 for my ticket and felt like I was actually in the show! Amazing!!

A fabulous play! Very creative presentation and special effects, plus a very moving story. Actors were very capable without shining in any particular way.
