We went to Toronto to attend the Toronto International Film Festival, our first time at this event. Over the years we have usually stayed in Yorkville, but everything in that area was booked, so we reserved at 1 King West.
We were not disappointed!!! The room was large, beautifully furnished, and filled with light during the day. The bathroom had a tub as well as a good sized stall shower. Although it was comforting to know that we had a washer and dryer right in our room, we were only there four nights and didn't make use of it. We did use the refrigerator and made ice in a tray so we didn't need to go to the ice machine. I feel that the room would have been comfortable for two of us even for an extended stay.
The lobby was very user friendly: from front door to elevator door was just a short walk; no massive lobby to travel through.
Originally concerned about being right downtown away from the theaters', we found that we could get anywhere quickly as the east/west trolley runs right down King Street and the north/south subway entrance was right outside the doors of the hotel. We were also able to walk to some of the theaters', but once we hit on the ease of the transit system we walked less and rode more.
As if all of this was not enough Starbucks is right across the street. It is very likely that we will stay at King 1 the next time we are in Toronto.
