“Stylish and Modern!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2005

I stayed at this hotel at the end of July, and although most of the features listed on it's online description were not complete yet, the stay was pleasant. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful. I was given a tour of my room and also given a complimentary relaxation CD.

The room included a well equipped kitchen, with plates, cooking utensils, wine glasses, a fridge and microwave. There was also a flat screen television, cd player, washer and dryer, air purifier, and serenity fountain. The decor was chic and modern with hard wood floors and modern furniture. The bathroom was very modern with a glass shower, and a bowl-like sink. It was filled with Bvlgari bath products along with slippers. The lighting in the room gave it a nice serene feel. The continental breakfast included a selection of healthy choices like fruits, muffins, cereal and juices.

The hotel is situated off a quiet street close to a busy intersection, which made me forget that I was in the middle of downtown Toronto. It's ideal to get valet parking here since I really didn't notice any parking lots around the hotel. The valet attendants were very prompt in retrieving my car for me.

I was very satisfied with my stay at The Cosmopolitan and I would definitely return again!

We stayed here in July for 2 days and my husband and I were thrilled. The Hotel is in a great location. Our room was a little bit small, but everything was in there, a compl. kitchen incl. washing machine and dryer and very clean. Breakfast was good (bagels, fruits, pastries...)
The Cosmopolitan has its own different style, very modern. We would stay here again.
The only disadvantage is parking. They only offer valet parking for $30, or you have to park in an other parking garage for less.

As other reviewers have said, this hotel is nice to look at... but it wasn't functional. The hallways are bright and rainbow coloured and very hard on the eyes. It didn't add anything to the hallways and just made you feel like you were in a fun house.

The rooms were much along the same lines. A fountain and light in the room ran all night long and I couldn't shut it off. The bathroom has an opaque glass door that isn't opaque enough for my liking. You can still make out clearly what is going on on the otherside of the door.

There were no cleaning products to do your own dishes, but they did provide a dishwasher (which I guess is ornamental seeing the lack of detergent).

Staff are marginal, the view isn't anything special if you are located on the backside of the hotel (it faces into a concreate square with buidlings all the way around... nothing tranquil abotu it. Especially since there was a party on the condo terrace right beneath our balcony!)

Avoid this place, its for people who think they are cutting edge.

Stayed the weekend at the Cosmopolitan and had a wonderful time. Was happy to discover that we had been upgraded to a premium suite for free! The room was gorgeous - the decor v. clean lined. The sheets were lovely. My personal favourite was the bathroom - especially the glass shower. At this point some aspects of the hotel are still under construction, but at no time did I hear any noise, or see any dust. Service was quite good - things were a bit slow at the desk as new people were training, but I could wait the extra moment. I look forward to visiting when the Cosmopolitan is in full swing.
