I love the National Ballet of Canada. I attend at least four performances a year, and try to squeeze in the Nutcracker as a bonus every second Christmas or so as I love the Russian theme and the brilliantly rich colour palette of the production. The NBS performs at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, an incredible glass structure in the centre of Toronto - though be warned that the upper levels are far too high to truly enjoy the performances. Pay the extra for a great seat. My favourite productions are Giselle, Romeo & Juliet, The Italian Straw Hat, The Four Seasons & Emergence - who am I kidding, there are too many to name. Under the direction of Karen Kain there are interesting new modern pieces and the dancing is consistently strong. Highly recommend though pay the upcharge and purchase excellent seats.
