Owner description: The Distillery District is an internationally acclaimed village of brick-lined streets and dozens of vibrantly restored Victorian Industrial buildings. It’s one of Ontario’s hottest tourist attractions and home to live theatres, galleries, fashion, design and jewelry boutiques, unique cafes and award-winning restaurants. It’s all completely closed to traffic and just a few minutes walk from downtown Toronto.

“Great use of architectural heritage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Toronto seems to have knocked down most of what it had in older buildings. Here is one of the few old districts that has been preserved in its entirety. The group of old distillery buildings now houses a good mix of galleries, places to eat and a variety of stores selling a mix of products, in addition to original machinery and good displays of what the buildings were used for in the past. It is not a large area, but one we spent a pleasant few hours in.

“Fun place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

We liked what they have done to make this an interesting centre for finding out about the old distillery industry alongside arts, craft stalls and cafes. The cobbled quiantness and quirkyness make this a fun place to stop at.

“Allow a couple of hours to explore the buildings..”

This is great on several levels: the historic buildings, the great shops and the eclectic mix of eateries. Another MUST for Toronto..

“Eat, drink, shop, stroll”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

We thought the Distillery district was great! You can slow down the city pace a bit when here. We ate an early dinner with our kids. Having so many choices of restaurants with outdoor dining in the summer is wonderful. After dinner, we poked around in the shops and had a nice stroll. I found it to be family friendly, but that it would also be a great place to go with adults at night.
