“Amazing venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

If you're able to catch a favourite performer at this hall, you're in for a treat. As other reviewers have stated, the acoustics are amazing, the interior very modern and spartan, all wood, seating is comfortable with lots of wiggle room to cross and uncross your legs, and excellent views throughout.

I watched a friend perform here when he rolled into town with a major jazz ensemble whose performance was stellar and Koerner Hall being Koerner Hall totally enhanced the overall experience. The musicians themselves even mentioned that the venue was incredible, and one of the best. It's nice to know that all the planning, finance, and executing that went into the place (one of the more recent concert venues to go up) is so well appreciated.

I'm seeing more and more big headliners being booked at Koerner so it looks like it's here to stay!

“Great Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

This is a gem. The accoustics are phenominal, the seats are comfortable, the view of the stage is excellent and the beautiful wood panels and trim make you feel instantly comfortable.

“Top notch concert venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Attended a great jazz concert at Koerner Hall, part of the Royal Conservatory of Music. It is a medium sized venue, about 1200 seats. Only 5 yrs old, it boasts state of the art acoustics and comfortable seats with leg room! They feature all types of performances including jazz and classicle. We saw Regina Carter (jazz violinist) and Nnenna Freelon (vocalist) celebrating the work of Dinah Washington and Sarah Vaughn. The headliners were fantastic and their backup combos were also great musicians. They have a full bar outside the hall in a lobby area. A former student at the Conservatory (vocalist ) performed in the bar area after the show. Tickets were $80 for the best seats in the house (5th row center) purchased online and printed out at home.

“The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

There must be somewhere else in the world to equal Koerner Hall but it's hard to believe. It's like walking into a jewel box. The sound is amazing. It is basically a chamber music size. But larger groups fit perfectly. Koerner Hall is worth a trip to Toronto.

“Taj Mahal Trio, Vusi Mahlasela & Frederick's Brown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Ever dream of seeing one of your blue's favourites? Then, poof, a friend says he has tickets to a concert that is exactly that! Taj Mahal! He played my all time favourite song of his, Corinna.

The bonus was Vusi Mahlasela and his incredibly HAPPY music! It always amazes me that these lovely African people can lift themselves up from such strife, war and hardship through their music and smile every single step of the way. Truly inspiring!
