We were in Chinatown, freezing and looking for a hot cup of tea. We spotted this restaurant (downstairs from the street and across from Sun Ming Hong herb shop) and decided to give it a try.
It looks new, is brightly painted and all the staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. We ordered tea, but decided to try some dim sum and had some vegetarian dumplings, some pork & leek dumplings and a Chinese pancake (these were so flavourful). The portions were large and the food was excellent. We were looking for a small snack, but ended up being very full.
Later on that day, we tried Dumpling House on Spadina and were very disappointed after eating at La Casita.
Next time we are in Toronto, we will definitely return to La Casita
