“Good location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

My husband and I stayed at Comfort Inn for four nights and everything was ok. The rooms are comfortable with decent sizes, they seemed all renovated, but bad fisnishings, nothing to worry about.
It's a good place to stay beacuse it's walking distance to Dundas Square and everything you need. It was our first time in Toronto and it couldn't be at a better location.
My complaints are:
- the elevator, I read about in a few reviews here and it's really ridiculously slow. The good thing is that the hotel doesn't have much floors so you will only use it to carry the bags.
- the rooms on the 1st floor, that it's actually the basement, are too dark and with practically no window and it´s seems that someone could see the room from outside.
- the internet is free but doensn't work on the 4th floor.

Room Tip: Get away from the rooms on the 1st floor!

Hello Priscila_Tiburcio,

Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience with us. I am happy hear that you and your husband enjoyed your stay in Toronto and that you also found the location convenient for your needs. As mentioned, we have recently renovated a former structure and our quaint building does come with some characteristics. I agree the elevator is quite slow however; it is part of our efforts to make the property as accessible as possible. As for the internet, I am pleased to tell you have recently updated our internet service which has increased the quality of the Wi-Fi on the fourth floor. Feedback such as yours allows us to improve the quality of service to ensure guest satisfaction.

On behalf of the Comfort Inn Toronto City Centre, we appreciate your comments and hope to see you again in the near future.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

This was my first stay at this property - I was looking for an inexpensive hotel in the downtown area, as I was flying out of Billy Bishop Airport (Toronto Island Airport) the next morning - as a number of your reviewers pointed out, it is a very easy building to miss - the signage is very understated. Inside it was positively delightful - with the exception of the very slow, very clanking elevator - my room was small, but certainly had everything I needed - everything was beautifully finished. Complimentary breakfast was more than adequate, even though the room it was served in was small, it didn't turn out to be a problem. I didn't have a car, so parking was not a problem for me. I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Apparently the building had originally been an apartment building, so whoever did the renovation made a first rate job of it. I would certainly consider staying there again.

Thank you for taking the time in sharing your experience at the Comfort Inn City Centre.

I am happy to hear your first stay with us was a pleasant one. And I appreciate the opportunity to apologize for the slow moving elevator and the understated hotel sign.

I do hope when you are in the Toronto area you will stay with us again. I look forward to meeting you on your next visit.

Unlike previous reviewers I did not stay here for a bargain price. However at the time it was one of the cheaper options in Toronto CBD for a last minute, two night stay.

Good:
Free WiFi
24 hour food store directly across the road
Modern room with decent bathroom
Hot water and shower pressure both good
Comfortable bed
Clean
Fridge and microwave
Breakfast included

Bad:
WiFi often patchy and completely dropped out
Rooms not soundproof - could hear toilet flush in room next door and corridor noise
Coffee, tea and tissues not replenished by housekeeping
So-called Business Centre non-operational
No safe in room
Minimal wardrobe space
Microwave had not been cleaned
Breakfast options extremely limited
Breakfast room small and cramped - milk and coffee ran out the first day I ate there (didn't bother with it on the second day - ate elsewhere)

Outstanding location and good customer service. Rooms are renovated with new appointments. While a bit small it has everything you need, comfortable bed, flat screen TV, fridge, microwave, and breakfast included. Parking is at the Ramada about 1 1/2 blocks down Jarvis. As a New Yorker I found Toronto small and very walkable. Yonge-Dundas Square is about 10mins away we also walked to the Royal Ontario Museum and the CN Tower, both about a 30min walk. Helped that the weather was sunny and warm for our visit. Another plus was the mini grocery store "Rabba" across the street, its open 24hrs and great for picking up late night snacks. Customer service was friendly and helpful pointing out directions to local attractions and helping with check in and unloading the car.

Stayed on a Thursday night for a convention in Toronto at the Metro Covention Centre. Cab ride back to hotel was only $9. Had trouble opening fridge door since the bed matress was in the way and no room to move it, but otherwise was very happy and would stay here again. Great value, location, food and service for the price. Very clean and quiet.

Room Tip: Second floor did not require using the elevator so that was very convenient. It was only a few step...
