“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

The restaurant is always full, better to make a reservation in advance. We love french cuisine, and the food here is always excellent!

“Delicious Food, Great Wine, Excellent Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We were taken to L'Avenue for dinner last night by friends who had been there a number of times. There was a warm feeling from the moment we walked in. We were greeted and shown to ur tables. The appetizers (Bone Marrow and Escargot) were deliciously accompanied by a great white wine. Our mains (Steak frites, brugers, lamb) were well portioned and very tasty. One of the owners is a sommelier and he recommendation on wine was excellent. Desert was ...well desert. All in all a great restaurant in the heart of Leaside.

“A superb spot for dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

I had never heard of L'Avenue until friends of ours suggested it as a spot to get together for dinner. It is not a large spot which can make it difficult to get in (it was full the Thursday night we were there).

We all ended up having a most enjoyable meal. I went with some of the specials for my choices - probably the best butternut squash soup I've ever had and a wonderfully prepared and presented lake trout.

The service was friendly and attentive and the restaurant has a decent, reasonably priced wine list.

This is definitely a great spot to dine whether it be with friends, a special occasion or for a romantic meal.

“overall excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

It was a little tough getting in without a reservation, had to walk around on Bayview while waiting for a table to come up, but it was worth the wait. Portion sizes were great (steak frites and Chicken Basque), extensive wine list with waiters that were very helpful in making suggestions. Decor is simple and comfortable. Nice to have desserts that were made in house too! We shared the Doughnuts and Coffee.. Beignets that were a perfect way to finish our meal..
