The Riverside/Leslieville tour was a well researched and well presented tour. The chef/guide has obviously put heartfelt effort into planning where to go, finding out about area history, as well as liaising with businesses. It’s a bonus that he enjoys hamming it up (ha ha food pun) with participants and that he has kitchen-related anecdotes to share, too. I appreciate the business model of charging us a bit more to ensure that vendors were paid fairly along the way-- our group was taken seriously at each venue. I have been on less successful food tours where tour-ers were made to feel like inconvenient tourists at best, and I suspect that those companies didn’t use this strategy. OccasionaI delays, background noise, rain, and other glitches were dealt with well enough. Personally, I am genuinely interested in finding out about local food vendors and will likely support the ones we visited. Overall, the tour seemed popular – for local and visiting participants alike – and I would attend other tours offered by the same company.
