We have eaten at several of the Oliver and Bonacini restaurants, but this was our first time at Luma. It is a great location on the second floor of the TIFF Bell Lightbox building; very handy if you want to check out some of the great films in the adjacent theatres or take in a play or a concert along King Street. The decor is modern, with simple, clean lines and just enough 'bling' to move it upscale without the more formal stuffiness of Canoe.
The overall experience was superb. We were warmly greeted both on arriving and leaving at the front desk and promptly shown to our table. The food was full of flavour and well-prepared and beautifully presented. The portions were perfect to allow a full three-course meal and be satisfied, but not stuffed, at the end. The service was impeccable, yet relaxed. Our server was both professional and engaging. The water and wine glasses were never empty and the pace was perfect, with the server always anticipating our next request.
We will definitely be back.
