We went as a family to the ACC club restaurant to watch the Leafs lose to Montreal. That was the bad part. The good part was the food. I would have given it 5 stars, but it was quite expensive. We shared appetizers such as calamari and spring rolls, which was nicely presented and quite good. Most of the party started out with salad, either Caesar or garden. Both were fresh, crisp and delicious. The garden salad had sliced pears and stilton cheese in it. The Caesar had homemade sourdough croutons. Excellent added touches.
A couple members of our party had roasted butternut squash soup, which was also perfect. When the main courses arrived, we were pleasantly surprised about the portion size. The prime rib was thick and huge, with a baked potato, veggies and yorkshire pudding. The only complaint I heard was that it was served au jus, not with gravy. One of our group had the salmon, which was given a big thumbs up. The chicken was truly half a chicken and took up most of the plate. It was served with veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. So good! Almost all of us chose the caramel pecan cheesecake for dessert, which was the tasty ending to a wonderful meal. The only thing I would like to add is that one member of our party is a celiac and therefore cannot have any gluten or dairy products. Our waitress conferred with the chef and presented our party member with suitable choices to accommodate the diet needs. Excellent service.
