“Beuatiful Modern Hotel but not user friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

Stayed at the hotel this past weekend - it is a beautiful boutique hotel just beside Air Canada Centre- in a standard suite. You need your card to access all hotel floor thus there are no security concerns but you also need the key card to operate the lights and everything in the room (you have to place the key card in a slot when you enter the room); this information was not communicated by the front desk staff on check in which made functioning within the hotel room difficult.
Rooms are modern and spacious and beds extremely comfortable. Initially had difficulty with shower but figured it out. While everything is clean lines and modern it is not necessarily user friendly.
The contintental breakfast included in the hotel rate is quite nice- european in style with yogurt, muesli, granola, fruit, meats, cheeses, pastries, bread and bagels and hot oatmeal with all the fixings.
The gym was clean, functional and had more than expected of a small boutique hotel - it also had great air circulation throughout the hotel. Only caveat was gym was hard to find- there were no signs directing you to gym when you got off the elevator.

A very nice hotel overall

Le Germain is clearly in the people business that happens to have a really nice Hotel. Everyone that we came in contact with made us feel special. Was so nice to meet and speak with Susan the concierge, she and Gregory are quite a team.

Everything about this hotel is courteous staff, cleanliness and professionalism. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's proximity to the Air Canada Centre, Rogers Centre and Union Station, is a plus.

A wonderfully modern decor, comfortably appointed rooms and professional, helpful staff make this hotel a must-stay in downtown Toronto. The room itself had more than enough space and all the necessities to make you feel at-home. Comfy beds and a superior washroom were the icing on the cake. The stay was complemented with a free buffet breakfast that was very close to being "served" with plates feared very quickly and coffee delivered to your seat.

What an amazing stay! Everyone was so friendly and efficient. This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. I could not ask for better service. This hotel is especially good if you are enjoying an event at air canada centre. It is so close to the main doors at maple leaf square. The front desk was so kind to give us toronto maple leafs info. We would recommend this amazing hotel.

This is a great place to stay in downtown. We are here for business but it is perfect for sports fans too. We had a problem with the air conditioning and they handled the problem to our satisfaction. The breakfast is good and they offer nespresso in the rooms. The beds and pillows are comfortable. We would stay here again if we are in town.

The hotel was chosen by my company for a meeting. The check-in was fast and very friendly, so it seemed to become a fine stay. The room was spacious, clean, and somewhat trendy, when you can watch the shower from the bed via the glass. They provide you with a bathrobe, but not with slippers. But WLAN is free, too. Everything worked fine, nothing to complaint, the pressure of the shower was somewhat reduced, maybe according to the 8th floor. And in the morning it starts up loud, the crossing is very busy, you will hear the noisy traffic, so as for a silent room when you are sensitive. Complementary breakfast is ok, of average quality, the staff could be somewhat more friendly. The public toilets near to the meeting rooms are not under surveillance for cleaning and refilling eg towels or so. Otherwise, it was ok. The bar is good for a final drink before you go to sleep, dont expect too much offers, but the staff is very friendly. The checkout was fast, I asked for a late checkout which was denied (asking for 1 pm was ok, for 2 pm would be chargend nearly 150 CAN$). So finally, a good place to stay, with some space for improvement.

Dear Mcchenchef,

Thank you for sharing your review on Tripadvisor. I was very happy to hear about all the positive aspects of your stay. We do have slippers on request so if you mention it when making your reservation, we will be happy to have them in your room for your arrival. I will follow up on your comments regarding breakfast and the meeting room areas and I apologize that these were not up to par during your visit.

We always do our utmost to try to accommodate all requests for late check-out when possible. I am sorry we were not able to do so for this visit.

I hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon and I invite you to contact me directly when your travels bring you back to Toronto.

Best regards,
