“Ten Dollar Tuesdays --- Excellent Gourmet Tapas, Great Price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Loved $10 dollar Tuesdays at Beast! Gets 5 stars in the category of good gourmet deal in Toronto. P.E. Oysters are $1 each, huge, cold, gorgeous and fresh served with house made hot sauce and lemon in the shell on a bed of salt---delicious!!! The patio is lovely, the perfect summer evening temperature just inside a quiet side street with a large tree, eight tables and impeccable service. All tapas plates including the very popular and incredible Duck Confit w/ hoison green potato pancake and bonito flakes are ten bucks each and are perfect for sharing. Don't forget to order bread and fruit jams made in house, even the butter gets sea salt flakes. Wonderful!

The Chef lets his skill and imagination show and he does not disappoint. Awesome meal, good wine, great price in a lovely setting. Ten Dollar Tuesday at BEAST!!!

“Beast is beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

An unusual setting for a restaurant, as you approach it looks like you are going to dinner at somebody's house.
Set at the beginning of a residential street this off beat dinning experience continues with the tapas style menu (not your traditional Spanish style fare though) some unusual combinations of ingredients result in a gastronomic experience.
The food was excellent the wine was good and the ambience was perfect.
Pleasant helpful waiting staff rounded the evening off perfectly

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

I used to live down the street from this place and it was my goto spot.
I was there for dinner tonight and the food is still amazing as ever.
I love their use of local produce and sustainable food. Service was perfect and they have a terrific selection of local VQA wines! Love the Hinterland sparkling!
Their menu is innovative and also keeps up with recent trends.
I will return next time I'm in the hood.

“A Little Bit of Beast in Us All!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

Local, organic, unique dining at an affordable price!

Definitely worth a visit - super unique dishes, served up and sourced from local farms and prepared on-site. Be sure to make reservations in advance or arrive early for first come, first served brunches.

A tiny little place, not mainstream, super helpful staff, loved the fact that food is sourced locally.

Will definitely return!

“Unique, Creative tapas in a quiet setting. Best of the best!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

If you like to try new things and are a little adventurous, this is the place for you. I found the place because of Anthony Bourdains show and even though he didnt visit this particular restaurant, he hung out with the owner and recommended it. That being said, it was FANTASTIC. The menu constantly changes, but one staple according to the server was the chef's take on the Quebecois favorite poutine. Normally made with french fries drenched in brown gravy and curd cheese, I love this dish and have had many variations. But never anything like this. Take the lightest fluffiest gnocchi you have ever had, deep fry them and then cover them in an amazing rabbit ragu and curd cheese and you have an amazing dish. Even got a second plate. The server said they change the ragu frequently but always have a version on the menu. Other great dishes included the house pickles with an amazing pickled eggplant and pickled beets (again a second plate was ordered), a cold scallop dish, fried squid with thai vinaigrette and fresh herbs, and a rabbit confit with spaetzle. All were outstanding. Even had a "Dark and Stormy" to drink that had a house made ginger beer. Then the surprise of all surprises that the server suggested for dessert. A house made sanguinaccio ice cream with dark chocolate and pigs blood. It was amazing. All the food was fantastic and the servers were friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best places I have ever eaten.
