The renovation was completed in summer in 2008. Very good value for the price & location. A streetcar stop is just around the corner and the closest subway " College " is within a reasonable walking distance.
The room was clean but some bathroom facilities are dated as if it was an oversight by the renovation crew.
I was worried about a week-end crowd in terms of the noise, but that didn't happen.
My only complaint is that I had to call Data Valet ( the hotel's IP ) three times during my four-day stay to get decent wireless connection. But to be fair, it seems rather difficult to get a stable wireless connection in any hotel if it is free.
If you are out all day for business, this hotel will serve your purpose very well.

This is a strange hotel to rate, there is nothing to really dislike about the hotel but it needs improvements. Firstly, the hotel has no guest laundry and the secondly the rooms have no fridges. we stayed for 3 days and both of those facilities would have made me give the room a higher rating. The room was comfortable enough but furniture/TV was dated but functioned OK. The bathroom was tiny. Room was cleaned really well during our stay. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The pool/spa/gym were good. As I said if the hotel had fridges and a guest laundry I would have rated it higher.

What a nice surprise, booking the Ramada Plaza for the less expensive option for seven women, and discovering really great rooms with plush, very comfortable beds and a large enough size to gather with a group. The bathrooms are a bit small, but both that and the room were kept very clean. The heating and cooling was very efficient.

We enjoyed everything from our check-in/check-out to our breakfast in the hotel restaurant (I recommend the French toast which is served with lots of fresh fruit). Parking was only about $20.00 a day and that was less than most hotels downtown, plus you could come and go as often as you pleased without having to get an attendant. The front desk was always helpful and had good suggestions. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in Oct 2008. We were upgraded to a 1 bed suite (rm 1012) upon check in. The hallways are very dated which did not give a good impression. However we were pleasantly surprised by how modern and clean looking the bedroom and living room were. However there was an awful smell (almost like cigarette smoke or a musty smell) in the suite (I bought an air freshener which managed to mask the smell). My fault and I can't complain as I should have called down to reception to report the smell. The bathroom was a little dated. The bathroom floor was not particularly clean and had a number of hairs visible (and in the bath tub).
Overall the whole suite was very dark and the lighting did not help.
Facilities: Living Rm: flat screen tv, free internet access, coffee making facilities, desk, comfortable sofas.
Bedroom: TV, comfortable king size bed.
Location: Walking distance of most sights, shopping, restaurants. The area was not the best and we didn't feel comfortable walking back to the hotel in the evenings and got taxis back at night time.
We had breakfast on our last day and there was only 1 waiter working in the restaurant...needless to say he looked very harassed. However he was very pleasant and did an excellent job of making sure all the patrons were fed.

It was our first time at the Ramada Plaza and did not know what to expect. We chose the hotel because of the proximity to the Canon Theatre where we were going to take in the Monty Python performance of Spamalot. We were surprised by the quality of room that we were assigned at the hotel. It was a mini suite with a king size bed in the bedroom, a comfortable sitting area and a cozy bathroom. There were 2 televisions in the suite with a large flat screen TV in the bedroom. The rooms were tastefully decorated since the hotel had undergone renovation recently. We loved being able to walk to a nearby restaurant and to the theatre. The cost of the room was extremely reasonable. We plan to stay at this hotel next time we are in Toronto.
