Our biggest problem was the access into the building.
You have to go to the back of the hotel for wheelchair accessibility where you then use the intercom to gain service.
When we first got there, it took 15 minutes for them to come outside to assist us.
When my partner got on, it did not work at all. The stair lift took two tries to finally work, which was a bit mortifying for her because there was a huge group of guests also outside watching it all.
The second and third times also took at least 15 minutes to get assistance. I understand staff gets busy with other guests, but for someone with total dependence on this stair lift, it should be a bit of a priority.
On the third time needing assistance, with our luck, a manager(I think) happened to come by after we had waited quite awhile.
He pointed out a ramp just a bit further down that we could use.
The only problem with this accessibility is that the disabled guest has to have company with them, as that person then go inside and take an elevator to another part of the building and open the door where this ramp is located to let them in.
With the exception of that, it was way more convenient then waiting around for assistance.
On the day of check out, my partner went outside for a bit and wanted to come back in. She was not able to because no one came.
When I came out, she had waited almost half an hour and still no one there.
I understand the hotel is currently working on getting a proper ramp installed out front, but until then, I caution guests with total dependance of a wheelchair.
We requested a few items on two different occasions..the first time they brought the wrong thing and the second time, we did not receive it at all.
I did not eat there, so I can't comment on the food.
The room(wheelchair accessible, not a standard room) wasn't the cleanest I've seen of a hotel but not the worst either.
It was a decent size for an electric wheelchair to maneuver in, although a suggestion for the hotel is that the bathroom door should be a sliding one, as it was a bit hard to get around the regular door once inside the bathroom.
I was very happy with the location as it was close to everything we wanted to see, within walking distance.
I did not get to use the parking of the hotel because it was full. That is a huge problem for me because I figure a hotel should have it's own parking, that is used for GUESTS only.
I had to use the parking just down from them, and I ended up paying $80!! for two nights stay.
$20 for 12 hour increments!
I was expecting to pay $25 a day that was quoted on the website.
Overall, I might use this hotel again, but not until I know for sure it is 100% accessible.
