“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2004

My friend and I stayed 1 night at this hotel. We were going to a concert and found the location to the Air Canada Center extemely close-5 min walk. It is also just a few mins walk to the Union Subway station. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There is no parking available at the hotel itself, however, the staff recommends a more reasonable lot around the corner. It is a short 2 blocks from the hotel, about a 5 min walk. ($13 for 24 hours) Or you could always park directly next door in the ramp, which we were advised is much more expensive. We had the larger room, 2 queen beds, which I think is about the size of a regular hotel room. The room was clean!! The only bad thing I can say was the towels had a funky smell. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

I got the Strathcona through the Priceline website and was assigned Room 210. This room was small, actually very small (borderline puny), the bed was poor quality and also small (a double rather than a queen or king), there was absolutely no view (this wasnt a big priority for me personally), parking was two long city blocks away (no valet, no on-site self park. This was nothing even close to what Priceline lists as three star comparable such as Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Embassy Suites, or Sheraton. The door was not snug against the floor and I could hear conversations in the room across the hall without straining to listen, there was writing on the wall of the room, there was minimal table, counter, vanity, and dresser space. The staff was helpful and the location were good. But this is a 2 and 1/2 star hotel AT BEST. I hope it is not the policy of Priceline to let 3 Star Hotels assign inferior rooms to Priceline users. That's not what their commercial says.

Very reasonable price. The location is excellent. Less than a minute walk to the subway, and short walk to many attractions. The front desk staff is extremely helpful and knowlegable. The Pub which is located in the basement is a great place to watch a game and grab a beer. The room's are clean. There is not a lot of space in them however if you are traveling on business it is sufficent. I will definately stay there again on my next trip to toronto.

we could only get two nights here as they were booked up. The location is excellent, close to Subway but we walked to Air Canada Centre, Skydome, CN tower, Eaton Centre etc. We found the staff to be friendly and polite. The room was average. It felt closed in because we were in the back and didn't have a view but that's my only complaint. They offered bottle water, tea and coffee in the room and the bathroom supplies was nicely done. We liked the decor and the elevators came reasonably fast. The only thing lacking is a pool but we would definently stay there again.

This recently renovated, very centrally located hotel was a great deal, considering how expensive hotels can be in downtown Toronto. I had a room with my teenage daughter and her friend for a week - the room was a decent size and the beds were surprisingly comfortable (I usually hate hotel beds). I would definitely stay there agin, providing the rates stay reasonable.
