“Very Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

We checked in and found out that the pool was going to be closed for our entire stay (was not listed on their website). When we got to our room there was room-service dishes left outside our door- those stayed there overnight as well as several other room-service dishes and carts throughout the hallways (even though housekeeping was on our floor for well over an hour after we checked in the dishes remained). Our air conditioner turned on and the room filled with cigarette smoke smell. We ended our stay early (which they did not charge us for-thankfully)The real shocker was after we checked out. We experienced some problems with our bank account/ATM saying we had a negative balance even though we did not! We called our bank and found out this hotel had put over $1000 on "hold" without telling us about this. When I called they said it would take 3-5 days to be released however they were willing to call our bank and somehow got the hold lifted the next day (which I was very happy with). So overall the halls were dirty, the pool closed, room itself was ok but watch out for holds on your account.

Thank you very much for your insightful comments. I am sorry to learn that you experience did not exceed your expectations. We did have an emergency shut-down of our pool as sever leaks needs to be underneath the pool. I have also shared your comments with both our Food & Beverage Manager, and the Chief Engineer. All call was also placed on your behalf to our ATM company to ensure accounting errors do not happen in the future with our guests. We are also currently undergoing an amazing rejuvenation process that will look after each guest corridor carpet and wall paper. I hope that once our process is complete you will be back to see our new product.

Delta East is located very near to highway 401 and so convenient for guests with car. Parking space is very spacious. For guests without car, bus stop is only 3 min walk; however, you need to have an exact change - $ 3 for an adult and $ 0.75 for child.

The hotel was clean and the room was spacious. Amenities in the room were quite complete. Except for one female staff, most staffs were friendly and took time to answer any questions we had.

There was wifi in the lobby and a PC near the reception was available for guests to use.

We had come for a friend's wedding and had a great time. The room was huge and very clean, had quite a nice view too. The main elevator actually has a interior view of the building and subsequently a great view of the pool in the pictures. During the day when kids are running around and playing the sound doesn't get to the rooms so it doesn't disturb any of the guests. About an hour before the pool closes, the staff close the pool to the younger guests so that the adults can have a peaceful swim or a dip in the jacuzzi.

We didn't try the food at the hotel since we were only in town for 2 days and were spent with wedding functions.

The price was about average, the only thing we found was that the there wasn't much around us for families, like the zoo or theater. At least nothing we could find easily and quickly, though there was an outlet mall and a super market and some fast food.

All in all, a very good stay, quite enjoyable, would stay there again.

Stayed here for a function that was taking place in the hotel. Currently undergoing some renovations. he check in and people at the front desk were excellent. Rooms were clean and nice size. Bathroom was big. Ate brunch there as a group. Food was tasty. Not a huge selectioon. Staff were very friendly. Overall a positive experience and well worth the money.

i travel to Toronto quite frequently, this time I went down with my spouse having half a day of "work related activities" to deal with. Since the Toronto Film Festival was making it nearly impossible to book a decent hotel downtown I decided to go to an hotel where I stayed before and that provided good service before.

That was a terrible mistake. We were there for 2 days...

On the day of arrival the Pool was not available... this would be OK in most cases but this hotel centerpiece is "The Pool" .....needless to stay that this was not a good start.

The following morning I left my spouse at the hotel, the plan was for her to go enjoy the pool and relax until I came back....again ... major dissapointment ...
Our Friends at Detla Tronto East are doing so significant renovations and simply put this was not the right place to relax.

Finally on the last morning I came down and made the right decision (once again...) I decided to have the "Buffet breakfast"... the moment we sat down the workers stater "jack hammering" on the left side of the entrance desk to remove the ceramic floor .... All they did to limit the noise and dust was to put a plastic wall up ....

Come on people at the price you are charging for the rooms (And Breakfast!!!) ... go ahead a spend the $30 in plywood needed to build a temporary wall ...

Finally (and I know this is petty !!!)...people go ahead and change the TV's the hold 27 inches bulky TV's are truly outdated ....

Not impressed at all ..... I am cashing in my Delta points and will avoir this Hotel Chain in the future.

The one excellent point was the quality of the matress in the room...that was outstanding.

PS as for the GM of the hotel...please don't waist time in replying to this .... I talked (actually yelled as we couldn't talk because of the noise) to the person in charge at the front desk and the apologies didn't do anything to make my trip any better !!!

I would like to thank you for your feedback concerning your recent stay at the Delta Toronto East. Please accept our most sincere apologies for not exceeding your expectations. I can assure you that this is not a typical experience a guest of our hotel should expect. Please know that we take your experience with us very seriously. I have shared your comments with everyone on my team. We are currently in the process of changing all TV’s to 43’ flat screen; this should be completed in the next couple weeks. We hope you will reconsider and stay with us again in the future.

Stayed here for a conference that was taking place at the hotel. Some parts of the hotel seem very out dated, but they are currently undergoing construction to take care of that. The rooms are not out dated. Very nice and spacious. Big flat screen TV. iHome alarm clock/radio which was a really nice touch. Bathroom was big and spacious. No wireless in the rooms but they do have a cable connection and it is complimentary. Nice touch. I was told that wireless was being installed. The place has 3 restaurants. I had dinner at TW's bar and grill. The pulled pork was surprisingly good and the Alexander Keiths on tap was great. Breakfast at Whitesides was ok. There is another Japanese restaurant on the roof which I didn't get to try. If your flying into Pearson and taking a cab, expect at least a $60 ride and about 25 minutes with no traffic. Traffic is a nightmare in Toronto and it could take upwards of 1 1/2 hours to get to the hotel. Downtown is also a $40-$50 cab ride and tons of traffic as well. Overall, it was a nice hotel. I would probably opt for a hotel downtown next time I'm in Toronto only because there isn't anything to do in Scarborough.
