“Average amenties, good location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Check in was easy and painless, nice staff. Rooms aren't anything different, dated but comfy. Beds were okay, 5 pillows on a double, couch, small coffee table, big dresser, tv, desk.
Big windows, big bathroom (sink was outside of bathroom, just off 'hall' into room).

I didn't pay for it, so don't know its value, but it was an okay hotel, about 5 blocks from Eaton Centre. Would go again, but there are definitely fancier places to stay in same area.

Pool is small, hot tub wasn't all that special but was nice and warm. There was another small pool near the hot tub (round, still water), it was lukewarm and didn't have jets -- we weren't sure what it was. Didn't use gym, but had a lot of equipment, though looks into pool area, which seemed kind of odd.

I stayed at this property at the last minute due to a major snowstorm and needed to get accommodation for myself and two co-workers that needed a 7am check-in.
The front desk went out of their way to make the requested arrangements.
The room was small but clean, fresh and comfortable, equipped with wide screen HD TV and free wi-fi. Interestingly there was no alarm clock in the room, but the wake-up service was on time. The room heat/cool system is one of the older wall mounted models so is a little less convenient as the newer wall mounted temperature controlled units, but it worked fine.
I did not use the reataurants, but did eat and have a Stella on tap in the lobby bistro, Good burger and fries. I had a government rate of $135 per night but standard rate was $145 plus taxes which is excellent value for a downtown hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors will have less street noise. There is a fire station to the northwest so...

The hotel is actually quite nice but the service is absolutely unacceptable. We had 4 people staying in a room. 2 were sleeping and one was waiting for the 4th to come up so he left the door open a crack so they could come in. Security walked into the room and told us we were being evicted for having our door open in quiet hours. After an hour waiting in the lobby for the manager, he came and told us they had a zero tolerance policy so we could have 5 minutes to wake up those sleeping, pack our things and leave. He pulled his cell phone out and appeared to be calling the police. After talking it over (and learning that security was on our floor for a noise complaint for a different room) the manager "gave us a break" and let us stay. All because we had our door open a crack. I will never stay in another Marriott hotel again.

The hotel is in a great location to walk to a lot of stores. We got a balcony corner room. The bathroom is at the end of a long corridor with a toilet and bathtub shower but the shower wall was cracked and badly patched. To wash your hands you had to walk up the hallway to the sink. The room was a little tired. This place is busy from morning till night I had to spend some time in the lobby waiting for my husband to get out of a meeting the furniture was very uncomfortable hard as a rock and needed updating! The staff was very helpful.

Whenever we need to stay overnight in Toronto we usually stay in this courtyard marriot as it's in a good downtown location and the price is usually good. Our last visit here was no different, a trouble free experience. Service is good and the rooms are good without any issues.

The hotel is clean but is aging. Decoration, bathroom etc would need an update to stay competitive with business travellers since the options for DT hotels are increasing. I would consider replacing the towels with something higher quality. Location is great

Needed a hotel close to the Toronto General and picked one on Queen Street only to be scared off by the negative reviews. Cancelled that and rebooked the Marriott based on the proximity to the hospital and favourable ratings.

Excellent from the time we were greeted by the valet and checked in. Unfortunately I don't remember the names but everyone was gracious and helpful. We ate in the Young St Grill. Thank you, Addis, for looking after us, allowing us to change tables, changing our wine and offering us suggestions as to what was good. Thank you to the Maitre D for adjusting the heat and thank you to the gentleman who delivered the extra blanket.

The bottom line is that this is attentativeness at its best

Thank you Courtyard Marriott
