Hotel in excellent location for touring around Yonge street area. Easy to grab a cab on Yonge to venture down to CN tower, and other tourist sites. Walking distance to Eaton Centre and good restaurants, and subway.
Clean rooms. different layout for bathroom. toilet and tub shower separate from sink and counter area. Our room was beside the elevator, not a good choice, very noisey all night long. Airconditioning worked well. Linens were very nice, comfy pillows, bed! Using valet service was excellent for unloading, loading lots of gear, very easy! A busy hotel! Pool not very clean at the time of our visit, this was disappointing for sure, we went down to use it once then decided against it due to color of water. Free wifI! Terrific customer service. Booked hotel using booking.com

Room Tip: check out room layout, do not take a room close to elevator, you will hear it all night long.

I had booked this room back in July and stayed in August. Room was on the 5th floor and poor layout. Open front door and it swung against the bed. So no privacy when opening the door for anyone in bed. Bathroom had no sink in with the toilet and it was located on the other side of room.
No coffee left out after 10:30. As a seasoned Marriott traveller I would not recommend this location or hotel in the Toronto downtown core.

After many great stays in this hotel I had a terrible stay and will not use a Marriott hotel again. I made the reservation 7 months in advance through the Air Canada website and called the hotel directly and was told that an early check in would not be a problem two weeks before my arrival after a flight change by AC. Flew all night and when I arrived at 8:30 am I was told their were no rooms ready because hotel had been sold out the night before (That I understood, however I should not have been told that there would not be a problem with early check in if the potential for one existed. Told by an abrupt clerk to “Go Explore Toronto”. Clerk also pointed out that “I see you booked with Orbitz” as he rolled his eyes at me! All my previous stays at this hotel had been booked directly with the hotel. This booking technique may explain the poor service and room!

“Explored” Toronto and returned 3 ½ hours later and was then given room 209 (If you must stay here do not accept rooms on the second floor!) The room was basement like, small dirty windows, musty, a view of air condintors, exhaust fans and a roof full of cigarette butts. Opened the window for fresh air however the machinery on the roof was too loud! The room was so dark because of it location I had to have all the lamps on to brighten the room and the shears pulled completely back even though it was a wonderful sunny day in Toronto.

I called the front desk to express my displeasure and after being put on hold for what seems like an eternity was told no other room was available. My option was to check my bags with the bell hop yet again and wait another 3 and ½ hours and another room MIGHT be available at that time but she could not guarantee a new room. I was too tired to do that at this point. She said she would contact me about a room change for the rest of my stay however I never heard from the front desk again.

The room was in rough shape with stains on the walls, frayed carpet and used shampoo in the shower. Housekeeping tried to enter my room early in the morning on my last day even thought I had the notice on the door. I was in the shower at the time they rang a bell out side my door which sounds a fire alarm in the room. I jumped out of the shower thinking there was a fire before realizing what had happened. Glasses were water stained (not sure if they were dirty or just a poorly maintained dishwasher) Coffee cups are now flimsy paper with ill fitting lids (dangerous to use with hot liquids) I would suggest that the hotel go back to glass mugs for patron safety.

This is not the Marriott Courtyard I was use to and simply will not stay there again. You can get a lot better downtown for the same price.

Room Tip: If you must stay here donot accept rooms on the 2nd floor!

Hotel is situated on Yonge Street, round the corner from the subway station which is only a few stops from Union Station and the lake shore.
Room was spacious and well appointed. Buffet breakfast was v. good with plenty of choice. Dedicated computers/printer to get your boarding card for the return journey.
No room safe, but safes were available in the lobby via reception.

Room Tip: Ask for room high up and not facing Yonge Street, which is busy and can be noisy

Very large room with lovely bathroom and dressing area very clean with really comfy beds, free wi fi. Within easy walking distance of the main shopping area and not too far from tourist attractions. Very helpful Englishman on the concierge desk. Breakfast was excellent with plenty choice. Stayed for one night en route to niagra falls, glad we did because we got to see alot of the city of Toronto.

I stayed here in August 2012 on a business trip. The hotel is just off Yonge street which is a very vibrant area and within walking distance there is an abundance of shops and restaurants. Many of the eateries are pizza or kebab places, so you have to go a little further to get a bit more choice, but the harbour front is only +/- 30mins walk away, as is the CN tower, Blue Jays baseball stadium (right next door to the CN) and the Toronto Maple leafs ice hockey stadium.
The hotel is also a 5 minute walk from a Starbucks and subway station.
Room was comfy enough, with 2 double beds, a work desk, free wi-fi throughout the hotel, pretty standard.
I didn't have breakfast as it wasn't included in the room price and was quite expensive, so I went to Starbucks instead.

We started a trip in Toronto and stayed at the Courtyard for 3 nights. The location is great and in walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants. In a two mile radius you'll find many of Toronto's main attractions (CN Tower, Herborside, City Hall, Lawrence Market, ...) There are some Coffee Shops for breakfast nearby and public transport is not far aswell.

The hotel offers quite expensive parking, has a fitness room and a small pool. The rooms were clean and tidy, quite huge but looked a bit worn. Furniture and walls could use a refurbishment. Hallways and the the bathroom seemed a dark. So a bit of modern lighting and brighter colors would do some good. The staff was friendly.

All in all this is a typical, big city hotel and my complaints are on a high level. When rating the hotel, I was tron between "average" and "very good". The reason for this is that the Courtyard is a "good" hotel. Solid and clean, with a great location, and a good choice if you want to explore Toronto with a bike or as a pedestrian.
