My cousin came to visit from New York City and she stated she wanted to experience a spa together. I found Elmwood Spa, by the Delta Chelsea Hotel, and it was awesome! We both loved it!
You have to reserve your spot by providing a credit card. They opened an account under both our names, a day before our scheduled appointment, they provide a reminder call.
They tell you to park in the hotel and they will stamp your parking ticket, which is way cheaper than paying the actual parking fee. Actual fee:$42.00 for the day, I paid $11.00 pls tax, and you can park there the whole day.
Pick the services you want. With a service you have the opportunity to use the Water tranquility facilities. Which is: the indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool and steam room. You can use this the whole day if you want. You have to arrive an hour before your scheduled services. Our massage started at noon, so we had to check in at 11:00 to use the water facilities first and fill up a minor questionnaire. No biggie there.
Check in was fast, when we got there, the girls at the front were very welcoming and offered us each a washcloth to wipe our hands. We each had a girl to show us how to do the questionnaire at the computers and another girl showed us upstairs to the 2nd floor to the changerooms, lockers, showers, etc..
When we entered the change room, it was an awesome feeling.. The whirlpool was clean, the entire place was clean, we were provided with white robes and black flip flops, showed us how to lock our lockers, showed us where the showers were, which was fully equipped with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel. A basket at the side provides razors, tampons, clear plastic bags to put your wet bathing suits in, water tank with lemon in it for refreshment. It was so great! There were vanities with curling irons, blow dryers (tho i suggest you bring your own because the pressure wasn't all that strong to dry your hair) and a straightner! (Damn why did I bring mine for) Hehehehehehehe
The 3rd floor offered the swimming pool and where we got our massages.
The 2nd floor is where we got our facials done. There is also a juice bar here, but we didn't use this.
The massage was relaxing and the girl offered us tea when we were done.
The facial was also fantastic, though I would have liked some kind of warning better that steaming hot cloth was placed on my face, yikes!
All in all, it was a great experience and I can't wait to bring my daughter here!
There is a Thai restaurant next door and the spa is located a couple of blocks from the Eaton Centre.
Oh yea, by the pool there is an area where people can sit on wicker chairs with cushions and just read and sip your tea. There is another little spot which overlooks the front entrance of the hotel.
Everyone in the spa walked around and hung out in their white robes. It was great!
Hope this helps.
