We took a trip to Toronto, Canada and were dismayed to see how unkempt the downtown area was. We were around the Yonge/Bloor area where the 'high-end' shops are and everything looked pretty grim and unwelcoming. There were Xmas trees with lights still on and this was in March! Walking along Bloor at Bay Street, we felt we were in some forsaken back street definitely not the main strip! Wow, at this rate, who will be willing to visit Toronto that we hear so much about? Surely the city big heads are not proud of their own city? Our friends visited in January and said similar things, one being it takes ages if at all to clear the snow and hence the hard ice which is everywhere. Wont be going back for sure as there are other cities that would be better welcoming our tourist dollars.
