Owner description: Kensington Market is just to the west of Chinatown and is the bohemian heart of Canada, based in a multicultural history it is now a flurry of independent stores, restaurants, bars and shops that bring the world's foods to one tightly knit community. You can find any food on the planet in Kensington Market. It is not an uncommon thing to find a festival in Kensington Market making the bohemian party atmosphere complete. Tip for Kensington, take the transit. Streets are packed and traffic is insane, parking is non-existent.

“Interesting place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

We went to Kensington Market with a friend while we were visiting Toronto. There were a few cute little shops but some of the people who were in the streets were a little distracting. This isn't really a place for kids. We enjoyed great grilled cheese at a small cafe that was a must for sure!

“Nice Little Market with Lots to See!!! (And Taste, of Course....)!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

We were visiting family not far and they suggested we go to the market. Good suggestion!!
The market has something for everyone -
Great eateries of all types and cultures, nice art galleries, quirky stores, good fresh food, VERY good ice cream!!
Everyone is nice, friendly and welcoming.
The passers by are fascinating to watch.
Stroll around or sit at one of the lovely restaurants or cafes and watch everything go by.
Well Worth the Visit!!!

“Cool and relax place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

It is very peculiar that this is just an area of maybe 2-3 blocks where you'll see small shops in front of houses, bars and restaurants, and everything on a hippie-style and relax mood.
All kinds of food available, souvenir shops and more. 2 hours will be enough with time to eat included. Be aware that during winter, not all shops are available.
