“Didn’t go into the cathedral but the gardens are beautiful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

A beautiful garden at King and Church in Toronto. Lots of seating and lots of people there. Not fragrant with urine as are similar attractions in downtown Toronto.

Come to the garden and sit for a quiet while next time you are in downtown Toronto!

Lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Pick up a takeout at King and Jarvis at Yes to Fresh or at the Second Cup and sit in the garden.

Some room for kiddies to run around as well.

“I want to get married here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Beautiful.
I adore the architecture and the history of it. Nothing else like it.
I'm from Waterloo and its boring here. I got some great photos and I decided that I want to get married here sometime.

“Beautiful church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Right now it is lit up so beautifully that it caused us to walk up to it and listen to the lovely bells chime at 10 o'clock. We've walked past before but last night it was a work of art with the lighting.

“Large Old Church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Easter service @ 11am was typical liturgical with sit, kneel, stand and recite. It was a full house with choir and visitors. Nothing impressive about service, just the building.

“Nice building, but a shame how badly the grounds are treated!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

On a self-guided walking tour of downtown Toronto, we passed by St. James Cathedral. The building is indeed beautiful, although it looks like it needs some renovation work. There were signs of significant wear all over the exterior.

One thing we noticed about the cathedral that we thought a completely heinous, shameful practice. Local dog walkers seem to make the cathedral grounds - as carefully manicured and lovely as they are - the focus of their walks, and allow their dogs to deposit their leavings everywhere, and do not clean up after themselves. Just disgusting, and in my opinion, completely disrespectful of this building and its institution. St. James Cathedral, and Toronto's Anglican community, deserves better.
