“Clean and fair price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

My wife had a surgery at Toronto East General and we needed a last minute place to stay close to the hospital as we didn't want to drive in Toronto morning rush hour. The Comfort Inn East was a great deal and only 15 min from the hospital. The room was clean, beds were comfortable. My only grip was that the WiFi was slow and would periodically disconnect on me.

The breakfast in the AM was decent and was enough to hold me over. This was a decent hotel that was clean, comfortable and very affordable. It had free parking, WiFi and breakfast.

This was the best comfort Inn we have ever stayed at. Hotel is very close to Toronto. This hotel was economically affordable. Recently upgraded. Free internet. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. We were only going to stay one night but after one good night we decided to sign up for two.

We stayed two nights and we were pleased overall. Staff were friendly and helpful, there is free parking, and a very nice breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs and sausage each day, along with other selections like fruit, cereal, toast, etc. The room was fine, clean and comfortable and all services were quite good. The drawbacks are that it is located a considerable distance from Toronto (about a 25 minute drive, no shortcuts) and so a car is absolutely essential. It is a 2 storey buliding and there is no elevator, so bear that in mind when making reservations, if you don't want to be schlepping your luggage up and down stairs. A pet peeve: the photo of the inn gives you the impression that it is located in an open area: you see the inn and lots of nice green grass around it. A very creative photo, indeed! In fact, it is smack-dab in a commercial area, on a very busy 4 lane highway. The motel directly next door looks like the Bates Motel, and appears to be a motel for transients. However, there were no issues with the place next door, and we had a fine, quiet two night stay at the Comfort Inn. We'd recommend it for travelers who have their own transportation and don't care about being close to downtown Toronto. As noted by others, there are no restaurants within walking distance, but plenty of choices within 10 minutes drive.

Room Tip: No elevator, ask for 1 st floor

Mum and I always stay at this hotel when we are in Toronto and we have been satisfied with each visit. The location is handy, close to plazas and restaurants, not far from the Bluffs too! There is a good little breakfast included, also microwaves and fridges in the rooms and no charge for parking. If you have the Choice Rewards card, you can collect points and have a free night before you know it.

I spent 5 nights on a business trip and thought this was a great place to stay. Very quiet, with pleasant, polite, friendly and helpful staff.

Would stay there again, and recommend it.

The only shortcoming is that there are no restaurants within short walking distance, so a car would be an advantage.

My partner and I stayed here recently for a doctor's appointment I had at a hospital in downtown Toronto. Because the International Film Festival was on, all but the priciest hotels in downtown were taken, so we ventured a little farther east than we normally would. I was quite impressed with the price of the hotel room, the TV, very fast Wifi internet and the breakfast. I wasn't so impressed with the small blood stain on my comforter, but fortunately, it affected only the comforter; the sheets and rest of the bed were clean and very comfortable. We had a room that walked out to the parking lot, which was a nice perk when we were loading up the car. It was quiet and definitely the only hotel I would stay at in this area of Toronto. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Clean and nicely appointed rooms with flat screen cable televisions in recently renovated motel. Fantastic staff, wifi, free local calls, small gym, complimentary breakfast buffet and ample parking. Other neighbourhood motels are $20 cheaper per night but I would gladly pay an extra $100 a night to stay at the Comfort Inn. Safe and reasonably priced -- you won't do any better in Toronto on a budget than this.

Room Tip: There is no elevator so a first floor room is a must for those with mobility challenges.
