We stayed for 2 nights at the Banting House. It is a neat old building and decorated with a bunch of awesome antiques. We stayed in the Banting room which was on the second floor. We had our own bathroom and own own private balcony which was nice. Some of the other rooms had to share a bathroom. The location was ok but was a far walking distance from downtown, Chinatown, the Distillery district and the West Queen West and Trinity/Bellwood neighborhoods. If you stay here and want to visit any of those places figure out the public transportation system!!! We stayed on a weekend and were able to get a transportation pass for $11 that was good for 2 people for the whole weekend. The trolleys will take you pretty much anywhere you need to go and there is a subway system as well. There was a school next door to the Banting house which may cause a noise problem for weekday travelers. I am not sure who this Scott guy is that everyone else is talking about in their reviews. He was not there when we stayed. I'm not sure if he is gone or was just on vacation. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at a community dining room table. Breakfast was good, blueberry pancakes or eggs. Parking is available in a little area next to the building but it is tight, only fits about 3 cars.
