The Grand is a really good hotel, as others have said the area isn't great but the service and facilities of the hotel more than make up for this. The pool is excellent, we were there for a week in Sept 2002 and I was able to swim each morning in an empty pool, bliss!!. Again as previously mentioned the breakfast is out of this world, to sit on the terrace in the morning sunshine and watch the squirrels was an amazing experience (we are obviously sheltered her in Northern Ireland - little sunshine and few squirrels) The staff were excellent and the limo to the airport was a surprising extra treat.

My family of five stayed for three nights at the Grand and we all loved it. The rooms had great views and were very quiet. It had a great pool and spa indoors and even a hot tub on the roof, which the kids used even when snowing. The free breakfast was an added bonus and always enjoyable. The staff were great and very very helpful. Absolutely loved the Grand!!!!!

The best thing about this hotel is the free breakfast bufett (although it is the same exact thing every day and if you are there more than a few days you'll probably get tired of it) and the fitness center. The fitness center and sap are very nice and they offer many spa services, I had a pedicure and eyebrow shaping (not the best I have ever had but satisfactory). The worse thing is the location and the room. The room had a queen sized bed although it stated that it was a king. The bed was about a foot away from the bathroom door and the TV's were small compared to most hotels I have stayed in. Parking is pricey $16.00 plus $2.50 tax per day. Oh yeah, and the front dest person was new and couldn't answer most of my questions. I only paid $100 per night but I have stayed in much nicer hotels for that price.

Whenever in Toronto I only have one hotel that I stay....The Grand. The service is extraordinary, the restaurant and bare are amazing and I enjoy drinking vodka on the patio.....especialy when I am on expense report. Ask for Heidi or Jackie at the front desk......when they are not traveling with the guests they are a temendous help. Melissa and Jen get an honorable mention as well! The restaurant manager is Ricardo, his son Andreas works there as well....they are always willing to help out......especially the female guests! The brains of the operation are Michael and Terrance.....ask for them by name if you have any problems. Long time guests Leon, John and Jim are always entertaining. This hotel is a winner!
