“A lovely city centre hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We stayed one night at the Grand in Toronto. The hotel is lovely with polite and efficient staff, clean and well appointed rooms and a comfortable bed.

Breakfast was good and was buffet style.

The best thing about this hotel is the roof terrace which has superb views across Toronto and two Jacuzzi pools. Perfect for soaking up the sun!

Overall, we couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel.

My husband and I just returned from an absolutely fabulous weekend at the Grand Hotel in Toronto!! It really was one of the if not THE best weekend we have spent in Toronto.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and they actually remember you from one day to the next! The rooms are perfect, everything you could possibly want or need or they can get it for you!

We had dinner at Citrus Restaurant on Friday, the food and the service was excellent and if you like Sushi you have to try the Sushi by Eddie... OMG Yum!! The buffet breakfast every morning was very good too!

The roof to patio... what can I say but... WOW!!! No matter what time of the day it is you always have a spectacular view... but... you have to go up there at night! They have plenty of comfortable lounge chairs everywhere and two big jacuzzi tubs. It is a very nice touch.

The beds are very comfortable, the salt-water pool was great and even the massage in the spa was very good. We can not wait to go back!!

My husband and I just recently returned home from an overnight stay at the Grand Hotel, and we honestly can’t wait to go back! From the moment you walk in the doors you feel like a true “guest”. It’s first class treatment all the way. The staff are super friendly, and from our experience, were happy and willing to do everything and anything to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable, and that’s exactly what it was. Our room was beautiful, immaculate and had all the little touches that made us feel at home. It didn’t have that stuffy, “hotel” feeling that other hotels we stayed in have had. We ate dinner at their restaurant which was delicious, and we hung out the next day by their pool, which was clean and so beautiful. I am not a celebrity, but I certainly felt like one when I was there. I’ve stayed in MANY hotels throughout Toronto, but last night was my first night at the Grand and the next time I’m in TO, it’s 100% where I will stay again. I would recommend it to ANYONE!

We loved this hotel! Only stayed for one night before we flew to New York. We booked a nice room anyway but when we arrived, we were upgraded. Our suite was huge and on two floors.

We had a drink in the bar and the service was fast and friendly. Breakfast was good and included in the price.
We used the swimming pool and jacuzzi which was lovely and we were the only ones in there which made it even more enjoyable. We also sat on the rooftop terrace which offers lovely views.

Would return.

We booked two rooms for one night on our way to a weekend in Niagara-Falls with a stop to visit Toronto for a couple of days. One adult (19) and three teenagers stayed in a king room (with a pull-out couch as the second bed) and slept comfortably. Admittedly a second night would have been a bit much on a pull-out couch, but it was a positive experience nonetheless. Room was very clean and very quiet considering we were downtown.

Staff was very friendly although when we called about information before our departure, the person we spoke to could not answer the simplest question on parking without assistance from a colleague. This also proved to be the case when we called again after our check-out, which is odd, because while we stayed there, they were quite helpful and pleasant.

The pool is amazing and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it.

The breakfast buffet included in the price of the room was terrific, and the patio setting was outstanding.

The only draw back is the "iffy" neighborhood you walk through to get to Yonge street. We were never concerned for our safety, but thought that it was odd to have such a nice hotel close to such a neighborhood.

Overall a very positive experience.

My daughter and I stayed at The Grand for 3 nights from June 28-30. We had a fabulous stay. The Grand offers free breakfast, on-site parking (affordable parking), kitchenette, indoor swimming pool, gym, roof top terrace, hot tubs and a magnificent roof top view! Our junior suite seemed newly renovated, with a small refrigerator and microwave, ideal for storing drinks and restaurant leftovers. We started each day enjoying a delicious warm, and free breakfast on their quiet terrace. Staff were very polite and helpful. Indoor pool is beautiful. We ended each day with a little time in the hot tubs enjoying the view! Location is fantastic, walking distance to the Eaton Centre, St. Lawrence Market and much more. Our only small complaint was finding ice. We never located an ice machine, which would have been convenient. Stayed at a few hotels in downtown Toronto, but this is by far our favorite! We highly recommend The Grand and we will definitely book again.

I am very fussy and it is hard for me to give 5 stars. We arrived at Reception expecting a Junior Suite and discovered that we had been upgraded to a larger suite. Gorgeous room with big very comfy bed, office area, living area with kitchenette and outside balcony. Breakfast was in the restaurant and so was a lovely place to start the day, the food was delicious and a real treat. There is a gift/snack shop in Reception. The roof top terrace is a fabulous place to sit and read in the sun or to take night time photos of Toronto. The vibe of the hotel is friendly and this hotel is doing everything right.
